With 5 wins in the UFC only 1 stoppage I think he is mildly overrated. His style causes alot of problems for people, however he has only beaten 1 guy in the top 15 (mind you that guy is rated number 1 currently) so I dont know why he hasn't worked his way up through the ranking's fighting at least 2-3 guys in the the top 15 let alone 10. Im not totally disagreeing with the notion, given the fact that he is 21-0 but his finishing rate significantly declined when joining the big show, and I think he is beatable. But do you guys?

Also feel free to share your insight on his ranking, and the fact it seems everyone has overlooked he only fought 1 guy in the top 15
. I understand he is dominant but with only 1 finish in his 5 ufc bouts, all against pretty stiff unranked competitors, minus Shalorus (not taking anything away from him)
I personally got the champ beating him via TKO 3-4 rnd. I also could see him smothering him with takedowns and top control but Pettis' ground game has gotten nasty as we all have seen.

I think that even if he has only one win in the top 15, and even if he went to the decision in the last three; it's the way he's systematically shuting down his opponent that is really impressive. It looks like cain velasquez putting constant grappling pressure mixed with powerfull strikes in transitions. That being said I think a lot of guys could beat him... his striking is not that good, he has a tendency to overcomit on things and a good counterpuncher could exploit it

Bendo for sure, Pettis(most likely) and maybe a guy like Gil/Alvarez although unlikely IMO
there's a reason they didn't make Bendo vs Khabib and opted for RDA instead

Donald Cerrone would give him hell

Was thinking of Edgar if he went back up or Aldo.

Agreed on the striking aspect, but he is at AKA and I can only assume he has been working on it diligently to round out his game

True, but AP works with Askren and his ground game (especially subs) continues to evolve. I also think Henderson would be a tough match.

Well, in 3 round fight maybe only Pettis may beat him, but in 5 rounds I can also see dos Anjos, Benson, Melendez and even Cerrone, Barboza having good chances at beating him.

Aldo would have to move up for him to lose. He shits all over every other lw.

Nobody beats Khabib at 155, they just can't stop the takedowns?

The person that would beat him is a Aldo type striker with immense tdd and I don't think anyone currently has that at 155

Pettis?
Creative striking
He has immense power, great accuracy, and capitalizes on split second openings
great TDD on and off the cage (forget about the Guida fight, ancient history)
very solid and more importantly lighting fast offensive submission game

Man do you honestly think Pettis has Aldo like tdd? Lolz. Pettis will have to improve tenfold in that area to stop Khabib. Clay Guida only manhandled him a few years ago and Khabib is just on another level to that guy.
I like Pettis, I didn't before but there's something about him that I've grown to like but Khabib mauls him, takes him down continuously, avoids his sub attempts for 5 rounds solid and a big kick to the dome or punchers chance he only has IMO

Lol are you f---ing high? He takes Bendo down at will. For a high calibre wrestler he surely gets taken down a lot and Gil and Alvarez? Wow! I think you're high as s--- right now or you're being ridiculous

I'm in the same boat, I'm saying Khabib is the most dangerous guy for Pettis right now and IMO he COULD beat him
and before the Gil fight I wasn't a big Pettis fan, but I'm starting to come around...can't deny the man has some skills.
He dosen't have Aldo level TDD, but it's still really good.
I want to see that fight and I won't be upset no matter who wins
Bendo on the other hand...he handles Khabib.
Bendo #1!
