I think Kampmann won, what do you guys think? I also don't think that Shields deserves a shot after that performance. I think he needs to fight fitch ASAP! Mark my words, if that fight happens, Fitch wins a decision and gets his 2nd title shot.

I had Shields winning round 1, Kampmann had round 2 (despite what Joe was saying), and Shields won round 3 (although it was close until the last minute). If that's the Jake Shields that shows up to fight GSP, he's getting destroyed.

lol Shields by control domination and just overall better control. Kapmann had 2 knees and 1 working submission attempt. Shields traded as much as he did which is sad on the behalf of Kampann.

If we go by damage or how the fighters looked after, then Kampmann wins. That being said, judges don't go by that, so Shields wins the controlling decison.

i had shields. i really don't like the guy, but he wins fights. obviously kampman did more damage, but shields controlled the majority of the fight. it's funny to see the difference between the two guys on the ground and then on the feet. kampman should have let go some more. oh well....maybe they can let him fight swick when he gets back.

shields clearly won on points w\ the take downs and control.
He clearly gassed out, and Kampman probably could have finished him had he struck more and what not...
As far as shields gassing though, I have everybody talking about him being a 170lber. His last fight was a dominating 5 round win over Hendo who was #2-3 @ 185 in the UFC prior to getting beat by shields.
Shields should have debuted at 185. It's simply stupid. Yes, STUPID to criticize a guy for cutting 20lbs and then talking about how they're too small to fight @ 185 because the 185 guys are huge and obviously themselves cutting upwards of 20-40lbs.

I had this fight alot like Kampmann/Condit. in that fight i thought Condit had better everything except positioning and that's what ultimately lost of it for him.
I thought Kampmann easily looked the better of the 2, but got caught in exactly what Sheilds does in fights.
Whoever scored it 30-27 was a goof. Kampmann won round 2 no question. Kampmann's fault for round 3. For once i agree with Rogan that he should have stood the fight up again.

Fact is kampmann was scared of Shields at all times so much they through the same amount of strikes.
having Wrestling automaticly makes your opponents mentally weaker in many cases.

Going by the shitty way judges score take downs and ineffectual top control Shields won.
Going by who actually did damage and tried to finish the fight Kampmann won. At least one judge got it right as I thought Shields would get the LnP sweep.
What I do know is Shields has absolutely zero to offer against GSP. ZERO. Fitch or Kos either.

Kampmann lost this fight, too. He probably could've finished if he stood up in the 3rd. Kampmann's TD defense was great. He sprawled nearly every takedown. However, from sprawl, he allowed Shields to finish the takedown. If he can work on that, he could beat anyone in the WW division, including GSP.

I voted for Kampmann but I can agree that he lost it for himself. Going for chokes that were unnecessary. Maybe like Rogan said, he just wanted to prove a point and get the submission on a BJJ wiz. Instead of the ground control, I figured he would've worked a drained Jake Shields on the feet. Oh well.

Shields won the first 2 rounds, Kampmann won the 3rd. Shields' takedowns and control were the deciding factor. Props to Kampmann though, he showed a lot of heart and really took it Shields. This may be a loss on his record, but I am sure he won a lot fans tonight.

Shields won the fight. He wasn't impressive, his tenacity to get the take down and his transitions were the only thing that looked good; but he still won the fight.

M.Kampmann vs J.Shields should have been a tie!
Kampmann looked really impressive tonight. The mass amount of points takedowns get are ridiculous, Kampmann got right back to his feet or sub. attempted every takedown, that should nullify or match some of the takedown ponts, shouldnt it? in my opinion it should have been a tie or even the possible edge to M.Kampmann.
