Not a huge fan of recent horrors, mainly because they generally go for gore as opposed to a scary and good plot. Although, I must say, I do really enjoy movies that are firstly good movies, and secondly very scary, but I can do without all of the gore that is intended to shock the audience, when all it does is make a potentially good movie cliche and cheesy.

I love scary movies, but there haven't been any that are truly scary in a long time. I honestly like the older scary movies like the original Amityville Horror and original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

What about television, I am intrigued and scared of the paranormal, a decent show in my opinion is a Haunting, I know it is probably only scary because of the liberties that are taken in music selection and such, but it is well done entertainment.

The Mist was pretty creepy. The CGI didn't look very good but I hear the black and white version on the second disc looks much better. Hostel, Saw, and all that other gore porn is just garbage. The Exorcist is still pretty unnerving after all these years as is the original Texas Chainsaw. As disgusting as it was, I'm going to go ahead and also give a thumbs up to the Hills Have Eyes remake. The scariest movie of all time is of course, "One Missed Call." "That's not my ringtone!" *shiver* I don't know what I'd do if my phone rang and it was a different ringtone. I'm sure I would s--- my pants several times.

Halloween is one of my favorite movies. The series kicks *** other than #3. Season of the Witch sucked. I always liked Night of the Creeps too, but I saw it again recently and it's not as good as I remember. Still good though.

I know man, there are some pretty crazy ones. The original episode, which was a two part mini-series is apparently a true story, and it is being made into a movie that is supposed to come out this summer or next. After living in my last house, I believe there are some strange things that can happen, but, I agree that some of the peoples stories seem a bit far-fetched.

Sinizta's picks are similar to the fake movie trailers in Grind House. Except they're real!

I haven't been truly scared by a movie in a long, long time. Back in the day, The Shining, The Thing, The Evil Dead, The Exorcist, and Phantasm did a number on me. (Watched the The Shining over at a friends house when I was 14 or so. Had to walk home afterwards in the dark with 2 feet of fresh snow on the ground. Yeah, that kinda sucked.)
I really enjoyed the original Saw, it was unique at the time. The rest of them are garbage.
I thought Jeepers-Creepers was pretty good when it first came out. Not really scary, but pretty original and pretty tense at times. Haven't seen the sequels, I assume they suck.
Recently, The Ring and The Grudge have come closest to scaring me. More of just a creeped-out heebie-jeebie feeling, (probably the same feeling I'd get if I saw The Exorcist these days). Not the true fright I used to get. Now that I'm older, i.e. Grown Up, I don't think they could make a movie that would truly scare me like they used to.
btw, Phantasm is a horrible, horrible movie. Very disturbing for a 13 year old watching it at 1:30 AM by himself. Very stupid for an adult, especially after raving about it to his soon to be wife, renting it, and looking like a total retard.
