Benson with Pettis as the champ or JoeJitsu with DJ as champ?

I'm a big JB guy....but the
only
reason he might get it over Benson would be the division depth. Realistically he should in DJ's rear-view mirror for a long long time after that massacre.

Easily Bendo, he fights Thomson in Jan. and i think he out classes Thomson. After that he would need 1 more fight for another crack at the title.

Joe B just because of the lack of depth in his division. 155 has a bunch of top guys who could fight for the title. 125 doesnt.

I think Bendo needs 3 victories before another shot, unfortunately i think Benavidez needs 5. He could maybe move up again, but i have my fingers crossed for Dodson to take the belt.

bendo has a waaay beter chance to get a title shot against Pettis than Joe B. it's easier to state you got caught in a nice sub and sell the 3rd fight than stating you just got caught and KTFO and try to sell the 3rd fight.
we might be tired of Bendo like Edgar in LW title fight decisions, but he has a chance after a couple of wins. while Joe B probably has to start from the bottom and the division is growing with newer talent so it'll be more difficult for him

Also Bendo is a former champion which defended his title multiple times.

Getting subbed early says more about the losing fighter's skillset than an early KO would. See Cain/JDS. It's A LOT easier to catch a guy off guard and land a KO punch than it is to land a surprising submission.

It comes down to this:
Mighty Mouse is pretty much the only guy at 125 that beats Joe B....They are the Cain/JDS of the flyweights in the sense that they are on a completely different level than the rest of the division.
Bendo is in too long of a line of contenders to get a 3rd fight with Pettis anytime soon...if he can even keep the belt that long.

excellent point, I was just basing it on the visuals and the perception it gives to fans. both fights ended relatively early unlike their first fight. but seeing a guy out cold still taking flush punches makes it more difficult to wonder if he comes back from the loss but if the promotion wants to position them for another title shot.
and yeah MM and Joe B are the Cain and JDS of the FLW's. but thankfully there seems to be an influx of new talent, making Joe B's climb up the ladder even harder this time.
@ LW it might not even matter, Bendo might lose a fight or 2, and Pettis might not even be champ long cause it's LW, there's nothing but contenders

Joe. The only other guy at 125 that can beat Joe at this point is Dodson, and that's no guarantee. 155 is a much more competitive division, the top 5 can all beat each other on any given day

Obviously Bendo... It's not even close, Bendo is about to fight the guy who was supposed to be fighting for the title last night, that shows they aren't trying to make the road back too long for him....

It may show that he is still considered a top LW but that doesn't make his road back to the title short. It could still be a long time before he works his way back to a title shot

Bendo defended a ufc belt many times, Benavidez has lost every oppurtunity he has gotten. I think Bendo will get a new shot if he wins 3 straight against top contenders.

Benavidez, flyweight doesn't have nearly as much contenders as Lightweight. It'll probably take him a win or 2 more than last time, but he'll fight for the title again.
