Its still too early for him though, I think. Yea, he is 10-1, but Vera was his first real venture into the cream of the crop in the LHW division.
Give him someone in the top 10, maybe top 5.

How is Vera anywhere near the "cream of the crop" of the LHW division? Who has he beaten at LHW? Krzysztof, Mike Pratt and Reese Andy. I don't know about you but that puts him nowhere near the top of the LHW division in my book.
Jones appears destined for greatness but let's not get carried away with the quality of this win. It's a good win but Vera is nowhere near the top of the LHW division - despite what he likes to think.

So u want to see him fight Evans

Evans is going to wrestle Rampage and try and win on points. Rampage, on the other hand, will try and KTFO of Evans. At first I said to myself, "Rampage takes this one handedly," but after thinking about Evans' performance against Silva, I'm starting to think Evans will take this one by decision (a tactical fight).

I think you are underestimating Rampage's wrestling. Remember in the Hendo fight...He was able to keep up with Hendo in the ground. Hendo is a much better wrestler than Evans. I agree that his only chance is a good game plan. I think he will try to strike with Rampage and use his speed and pray Rampage doesnt land anything

Ryan Bader or Thiago Silva will be his next fight

Good point, Hitman. Still, I'm leaning towards Evans because I think Rampage might suffer from some ring rust, and Evans impressed me with his gameplan against Silva. I kind of see these two guys moving in opposite directions. Evans is getting better, whereas Rampage is getting worse. I think Evans will listen to his coaches and will perform using a well thought out approach. I think Rampage will show up with a huge ego and will rely on his experience too much. I gotta go with Evans on this one.

I would say give him Bader. They are roughly in the same postion in their career (just Bader doesn't have the hype.) and they both just took a step up in competition and won in impressive fashion. It would be a great for the third fight on a Pay Per View main card!

While I don’t think ANYONE is even considering Bader for a shot at the title this fight makes sense. I'd love to see Bader get spanked like a school girl.

Well, considering Vera had a contreversial loss to Jardine as well as Couture who he punished, id say its easy to see he is in the upper class of the LHW division. The same Jardine who rocked Rampage with a punch and almost beat him, and the same Randy who is pretty close to unbeaten a LHW.

First, Jones isn't in Little Nog's class from what I've seen so far.
His next fight should definitely be Ryan Bader. That would be a good fight. The winner of that one, then gets a top 5 guy who's not the champ ie. Shogun/Machida loser, Rampage, Rashad, Little Nog, Thiago Silva, or a LHW Anderson.

Ahh, he's near the top because he "almost" wins. Great. 3-3 in his last 6 but I guess because he loses close to guys who aren't top shelf he's a top level guy. Gotcha.

You want to put you two up and comers in a fight against one another The two guys you could easily market as deserving a title shot with one or two more wins?

He'll get either Thiago Silva, or Rich Franklin.
Randy Couture is another possibility

Putting 2 prospects & future contender against each other wouldnt be smart. Then again if you look at it in another way it might set up a rematch in the future.
JJ should fight someone in the top 11-15 since he just fought Vera who is 16-20. These guys should progress slowly though the ranks and gain some more fans for marketing.

well, yes and no. Yes, he is top because its clear he can hang and beat some of the best in the division.(he beat randy) Even with Jones, I was impressed the way he stuffed that one takedown, and also he was looking good from his back as well.
The main reason I say hes in the top is because his talent. His Maui Thai is near the best in the division, his Greco is amazing, and his jitz is great as well. Hes a really great all around fighter. Oh, and a win against the former HW champ is also nice...... but im sure you have a excuse for that.

Sounds like he should be fighting Machida and Shogun at the same time, the way people talk about him on the main page. Wouldn't mind seeing him fight the winner of Nog-Griffin/Thiago/Cane.

Lil Nog would KO Jones in the first

Vera also was pinned against the cage against Couture for some time, just got his *** handed to him by Bones, and really, just never got the ball rolling since being a LHW. He has skills all around, no question about that.
As for the KO of Mir, this was Mir v1. The same one that was relying more on talent, than training. Oh, and it was his first fight back from his accident. Put Vera and Mir in the cage again, I can nearly gaurentee that Mir wins. Over and over.

Jon Jones now badly injured 2 fighters in a row, so probably Dana isnt in a hurry to sacrifice another LHW
