who do you think is realistically next for him to get him back in the title hunt because i think he is in a weird position he is easily top 3 LW in the world but he has beaten alot of the top guys already like
edgar
diaz
miller
florian
guida
guys like cerrone and pettis seem like a step down from clay

Pettis and Cerrone arent really a step down. People were making a case for Pettis to get a title shot or atleast a #1 contender fight with Diaz.
I would say Maynard vs Pettis makes a lot of sense right now

I wouldn't mind another fight with Diaz.
I'd love to see him fight Gil, tbh, but I'm not sure if that'll happen.
Edit: Heck, with one more win, I'd love to see him fight Benson (if he still has the title)

Thinks Cerrone is a step down for Guida

This would be an awesome fight. I like the sound of this one the most.

Cerrone or Pettis would put up a good fight.

Give him the
criminally underrated
Gleison Tibau if he gets past undefeated Russian prospect Khabib Nurmagomedov in his next fight.
The guy is 7-2 in his last nine fights with wins over tough Lightweights in Jeremy Stephens, Kurt Pellegrino, and Rafael Dos Anjos, and those two losses are a controversial Split Decision loss to Melvin Guillard and a closely-contested bout with Jim Miller.

I love Tibau and agree that he's extremely underrated, but Maynard is about as bad a match-up as it gets for him, imo.
Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't want to see the fight, but I just don't think that ends well for Tibau.

Nothing against him but, that would be a step down. He needs to have another top 5 guy
