For me Lombard won.... but as a said above it's no shock that Boetsch got the W.
I really don't see how Boetsch won this fight. Lombard landed more strikes, more effective strikes and had him backing up the whole time. Yes it was the most boring fight in recent memory, and yes even if he won, it would still leave a massive smear on his reputation. However, I can't understand the loss.
sounds like both guys respected each others power too much. Tim said himself he put together a good game plan to beat him. Lombard was hurt worse career wise for sure because it was his first UFC fight and now with all the weight cutting and his height Dana wants him to consider going to 170. Tim did not gain much because people now will say lombard was hype.. The fighters know he is the real deal but convincing the public is another thing..That is another problem, Lombard is a natural 185lb fighter but to be at 185 in the UFC you have to walk around at 205+ to be competative with the size on fight night. Look at how many guys fight at 185 that were Light heavyweights, Tim included.. That has alot to do with the UFC jitter thing or whatever you call it with guys coming from other organizations and not living up to Hype so to say. JMO.

I also had it 29-28 Lombard, but I'd never watch it again to confirm.
I thought Lombard won but like most people I was dissapointed with his performance especially not going for it in the 3rd, he must of knew he was in danger of losing a decision, I thought he was saving energy in the 1st for later in the fight which is fine but he just never picked up the pace. He would be huge at 170 though if he decides to make the cut.
Lombard won that fight! Boetsch did nothing, Lombard hurt him with a body kick, uppercut, he stuffed every takedown attempt, and had octagon control. Lombard didn't live up to the hype Sat night, but he deserved to win that fight.

In the end, that is all that matters. What the judges call is what goes in the record books. We can argue all we want, i would have sworn Lombard won that fight but that means nothing now that the decision was made
Weidman was the real winner from last night's event. Don't be surprised if Anderson reveals a "mystery injury" one of these days. Or perhaps he won't fight Weidman because their BJJ instructors used to go to kindergarten together back in the day.

One time they shared a cab on the way to a press conference. Sure, it was a van with 6 other people in it, and they didnt exactly talk, but they are just too close of friends to let a fight come between them.
