With their wins tonight, who would you like to see these two face next?
For Hardy, I was thinking someone like Akiyama. Both are 1-4 in their last five, although Akiyama is coming off four straight losses, whereas Hardy obviously has ended his losing streak.
For Varner, I"m not quite sure. He beat the formally undefeated Barboza, and moves to three wins in his last four fights. Who would you guys pick for a good match up for him?

Hardy v Diego Sanchez
Varner v Pettis?

I could go for Hardy/Sanchez. Diego's last three fights have all been FOTNs. Let's see if he can run it to 4.

Varner needs 2-3 more relevant wins before he catches up with Cerrone.

If they want Hardy to stick around(since he is exciting) they shouldnt give him a top 10ish guy. Make him work his way back up. And Varner shouldnt just shoot up to a guy of Pettis' caliber.
I like
Hardy vs Matt Brown, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Charlie Brenneman, Mike Pyle, Carlos Eduardo Rocha, Amir Sadollah,
Varner vs Mark Bocek, Danny Castillo, Efrain Escudero, Takanori Gomi, Paul Sass

Actually I think those are perfect fights. Both Guaranteed to be entertaining and it's not like Hardy was losing to bums in his losing streak and Diego isn't ranked super high or anything. Varner vs Pettis is good as well, Pettis has two wins in a row and with a win over Varner should be next in line for the title shot. If Varner was to win then he is right there in contention, don't forget the guy is a former champion, he is a very good fighter despite what people with short memory spans were saying going into the Barboza fight.

The only reason I suggested Pettis bro was cos he had just beaten the man who was mentioned as Pettis next possible opponent..

Dan Hardy isnt even top 20. He just barely won his first fight after losing 4 in a row. He is lucky he wasnt cut already. Sanchez on the other hand is coming off a loss with a top 5 WW and prior to that he won 2 in a row. Im sorry but Sanchez and Hardy arent near each other in rank. They need to stop giving Hardy fights with guys he doesnt deserve when he almost got cut. He deserves someone outside the top 20, for now.
Anthony Pettis is near the top 5 as a LW. Jamie Varner also isnt in the top 20. It was a great win but that doesnt mean he immediately gets a top 10 LW. I like Varner and thought he was wrongfully cut, but he was cut and even lost a fight outside the UFC. His last 4 fight under ZUFFA he was 0-3-1. Now he is 1-3-1 in his last 5 with them. He doesnt deserve Pettis. If anything, its a dis service to Anthony Pettis to give him Varner when he legit is 1 fight away from a title shot

Chris Clements would be a good fight for Hardy He doesn't have a big name but he is undefeated, he won his UFC debut, and showed some pretty good striking.

People need to realize that UFC will make a fight it will deliver stylistically...We don't know where they rank their own guys (If they go by a ranking system). We've seen it time and time again.

Varner got a highly touted fighter in Barboza, most didn't expect him to win. Barboza would have been likely getting a top 10 opponent next had he won. Varner looked dam good but needs to beat another guy outside top 10 before getting a top contender. Personally, I'd like to see him fight Guida, just because I think it's a great matchup. Prolly wouldn't happen until he gets another win or 2 tho.

Would be a great fight but I have a feeling Riddle would put Hardy on the mat with ease. Hardy was impressive last night against a striker not a grappler. That would set Hardy up for a good corn old. If he wants to stay winning he should fight a guy like Seth Baczynski

Varner looks into the camera after the fight and says "I'm Back" that was awesome!
