Why didn't Bones accept a non-title fight?

It seems like Bones could have taken a non-title 3 round fight against Chael or a 10-15 ranked guy. Even if he lost or didn't look good it was still a short notice opponent and he has the belt/PPV bonus.
Anderson fought Lutter(overweight) in a non-title fight. Anderson took the Sandman fight on short notice and up a weight class.
What happen to "I fight to make money, quite frankly". Dana would've given huge bonuses out and he could have got a FOTN bonus and his PPV bonus.
His
guaranteed
couple million was worth more than every other fighters
chance
to make money.

It'd be pointless, he wants to fight for money and all people wantd to see on this event was Jones - Henderson, so no one would pay for a non-title fight of Jones vs a top 10-15 guy.. And if he goes for a non-title fight against Chael he'd probably be mocked forever by Chael for not risking his title. And imagine if he'd lose, even if it was a non title-fight his whole reputation would've been screwed.

If Chael or one of 10-15 ranked guys loses badly, they would never get a shot at him again. He could've taken on a prospect and squashed their chance at him later on. All the while making bank....
