Assuming Okami wins against Sonnen, why not make this fight happen for a title shot? It'll either give Yushin a big win, and make him 9-1 in the UFC, or it'll give Vitor another win over a top 185 pounder.

I actually kinda like this fight. Especially if Silva is adamant about Nate/Hendo fighting for it first, and him wanting to take time off for surgery.

While this might be a pretty good fight (seeing that Okami has improved a lot in his past few fights), the way that Vitor Belfort was tearing Rich Franklin apart makes me believe that Vitor could easily take this fight.
Of course there might be an upset that could surprise more than a few people, but I would vote Vitor for this fight.

Because nobody wants to see Okami on a main card. And what if Okami ground out a victory somehow? Total disaster.
Actually I just took a look at the middleweight roster to find a better idea......yikes. After Hendo-Marq-Belfort....it's pretty bad. I don't want to see Maia get creamed again. Bisping? Kang? Gouveia? Wanderlei is really the only interesting wild card. I'd almost rather see a fight against Evans or another LHW.

Vitor is 0-4 against wrestlers(Chuck/Hendo/Randy/Tito)

You want to know why? After Belfort murdered Lindland at middleweight, fans were talking endlessly about BELFORT SILVA.
In MMA, if you have a fight, don't delay it and make a tuneup fight.
Why? UFC took that route with Crocop and look what happened. No legendary Couture/Crocop showdown.

I bet Cro Cop and Randy can be done now, or after the Vera fight. Both would be coming off loses, perhaps.

Well, technically you are right but it's not much of a win.

It won't be as lucrative as when Randy was champ and Fedor had come into the UFC and won his first fight and swept the tournament in Pride.
