Pearson is a great first fight for him. Not a super contender, not a scrub.

Well, aint that something, I was kinda thinking he might have a hard time finding a home, let alone the UFC, with his style.
That's cool, nice first match up and I'm gonna be interested to see what his disclosed pay looks like after the event.

Why would he sign with the UFC?
Has he not heard about the reebok deal, censorship, and scumbag owners?
I mean the UFC only gets fighters when they are young and desperate so they can take advantage them right?
So why would this guy leave Scott Coker the greatest, kindest, and most credible promoter in the history of promoting?
Guy must live under a rock to do such a horrid thing.

Having UFC vet or anything UFC attached to you or your history will help after. I remember going to some event (titan or something) and they said "former ufc fighter" and people got all excited. No idea who he was and think he fought once on a prelim. IDK...idk...

Oooh snap! Kinda short notice, but happy to see Brooks in the UFC. Ross is a nice first fight for him. Like @Jak said, not a super tough matchup but not a gimme either

That's a good point. Alvarez got woo'd and was coming off FOTY's with Chandler.
Brooks is probably coming in with a different chip on his shoulder. or He'll get ko'd like Lombard did and we'll all be running around cheering!

Yeah...that guy Alvarez is fighting for the strap next. He sucks pretty bad.
