Okay my thoughts and oppinion, Kimbo will just remain a spectacle . Maybe a better choice for Kimbo is to be a boxer and not so much an mma fighter , when he is taken to the ground he's a total fish out of water...The UFC will use him for what he's worth give him a decent payday and he should ride off into the sunset. My Hat is off to the guy can't blame him for trying but now that he knows he has to strike the iron while it is hott and get his fame ...

The problem with that is that his "boxing" isn't nearly good enough to hang with even a competent boxer, let alone a top 20. Punching power is but a small part of boxing. In fact, there's an art to movement in boxing akin to a ground game in MMA. Footwork, lateral movement, head movement, just plain body control and fluidity.... he just doesn't have it to be a competent pro boxer.
His best chance IMO is to stick with MMA and train 50/50 TDD and sub defense. Well, maybe 40-40-20 TDD/sub d/boxing. His window is closing and I think at this point he needs to focus on those three things and not try to becoming ranked in BJJ. Don't even worry about all these escpapes, really, just work on his hips, sweeps and how to keep the fight from even going there! Look what TDD did for Chuck. Even BJ, who has elite jitz uses incredible TDD to keep the fight standing, where he also has elite level MMA boxing that is so far superior to his competition at LW, he has almost no chance of losing if he can keep it standing. So, yeah, Kimbo isn't near THAT level, but it IS his only real strength... so learn to keep the fight there or just hang it up now, IMO.

Will Kimbo be a flash in the pan? Has he even flashed yet?
With all due respect, the guy's mediocre, and he hasn't done anything in his career so far other than be mediocre.
He's got fans, though, so the UFC's gonna put him on some main cards against other mediocre strikers and hope Kimbo can pick up a couple wins. Maybe he'll even manage to pull a Sokoudjou. At least then we could call him a flash in the pan.

I see a Houston Alexander-esque UFC career.... but only if he drops to 205 not against anyone in the top 10. He's way too small for his skill level to hang with current UFC HW's. I suppose he could make a dent at SF HW division, if he can get there within a year, but guys like JDS, Valesquez, Mir, GG, Carwin.... they'll all KO him quickly. If he couldn't land a solid strike on Roy Nelson, he won't on a real HW....
205 or bust Kimbo!

Can Kimbo even make 205, though? He was a pretty solid 230 against Nelson. I find it hard to believe that a 35-year-old who's never cut weight before in his life would be able to get 25 pounds off of that body and not be robbed of all his power and/or stamina.

Sadly, Houston has accomplished more lol. I dont know. Kimbo may be a skreet fighter, but hes not MMA material yet. Hes got a long road ahead of him to be successful. IDK how long he could hang in the 205 division either. Strikeforce may be better for him.

Houston ia faster, more technically sound then Kimbo. He would obliterate Kimbo.

Wow, didn't know that multiple exclamation points replaced a question mark. I'll have to take that into account when posting from here on out. I have to ask, though, does more exclamation points mean that the question should be taken more seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+1 with Houston over Kimbo, but I would say most top middleweights and even a few WW would beat him. I'd like to see Kimbo do well in the sport, but beyond a punchers chance now and again, he doesn't have it in him.

To make 205 I think Kimbo would only really have to shed about 10 pounds. He could then cut 15 pounds of water weight which is very realistic.
As for how Kimbo's UFC career will go...Who Knows? I do want to see him fight Seth though.

15 pounds of water weight? Honestly, I've seen some big guys cut weight, including guys built like Kimbo. 15 pounds is a lot of water weight to be cutting.

I'm not an expert on cutting weight, but from what I know, just about every UFC fighter walks into the cage around 15 pounds heavier they weighed in at. Some guys even cut wayyyyyy more then that.
