Ubisoft has teamed up with MMAjunkie.com in anticipation of "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood" – one of the most anticipated videogame launches of the year.
As part of the partnership, MMAjunkie.com is giving away copies of "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood" – on your choice of the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 systems – to the top finishers in our Fantasy Pick'Em contest for tonight's UFC Fight Night 22 event.
Simply head to the MMAjunkie.com Fantasy Pick'Em section of the site to make your picks before tonight's Spike TV-televised event. If you post one of the top-five scores, you win.
[admin]http://mmajunkie.com/Fantasy/MMAPickem[/admin]
The "Assassin's Creed" franchise has been a supporter and sponsor of mixed martial arts and specifically the UFC for several years. In fact, "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood" is sponsoring three fighters on tonight's UFC Fight Night 22 card: headliner Nate Marquard and main-card fighters Cole Miller and Charles Oliveira.
In case you're new to fantasy fighting at MMAjunkie.com, here's a quick overview of how to join and compete.
To join the MMAjunkie.com Fantasy Pick'Em league, you must be a registered member of the site. Once you've joined MMAjunkie.com, you must opt-in to joining the Fantasy Pick'Em league, which you can do from the main fantasy page ([admin]http://mmajunkie.com/Fantasy/MMAPickem[/admin]). Once you've joined the league, you can submit your picks for the upcoming event through the Fantasy Fight Night page.
In MMAjunkie.com Fantasy Fighting, you get points for correctly predicting the winner and outcome of each fight on the card. For each bout, you pick a winner, method of victory (knockout, submission or decision) and length of the fight. You also rank each fight in a confidence interval from your most-confident pick to least confident.
Every time you correctly predict a winner, you score points. With each correct pick, you're eligible for bonus points by correctly predicting the method of finish. A "knockout" covers any stoppage due to strikes (whether KO or TKO), and a submission covers any finish due to a submission hold (whether stopped by the referee or by the fighter tapping out).
You also gain additional bonus points if you correctly predict when the fight ends (either a round number or a decision).
Finally, you're awarded additional bonus points based on the order of your confidence interval. You get the most points for the fight you've ranked "most confident" and the least bonus points for the fight you've ranked as "least confident."
When the event is over, the points automatically will be tallied, and the top five finishers will be shown on the results page for the event. We'll also publish them here on MMAjunkie.com.
This contest is open to all registered MMAjunkie.com users, so get out there and start (fantasy) fighting! One caveat: submitting more than one set of picks (which we track on the back end) will disqualify you from winning.

I'm phyched for it, especially because of the prizes.
However, the winners will be the ones that take real chances. Points fighting ain't gonna win s---.

I agree Seawall. If you use teh same picks for this that you would use for the JFF you will not win. Have to take some educated chances and get a little lucky and nail a few 2nd round subs.

So based on that, would you guys say next time we should give away some prizes at random just for entering? like say give the top three picks a copy and give two away at random from everyone who submits picks? or is it still best to reward the top five?
Let's assume we only have five copies to give away per picks event.

I like the idea of rewarding the top 5 or else it's more like a raffle.

I agree with rocklobster. Just keep it to the 5 highest scorers. And seawall is righ too, using jff pick wont really work that well, especially if you hedge a lot like me.

Top 5 for sure, it shouldn't be a lottery, best picks get prizes. It only makes sense.

I think Seawall is saying it won't work because it only accounts for scoring.
