With Penn/Condit Expected, Where Does Fitch Go?

Will Fitch keep this mentality or will he accept defeat to Dana & Joe Silva and take a different fight. This is a very bad situation for Fitch, if he chooses to stand his ground, he could be waiting for a very long time. It seems that BJ Penn still wants to fight him ("tried to make it happen but Joe Silva said "the fans don't want it & I'm not interested". Not much more I can do on my end"), and Fitch is not going to get a fight with GSP any time soon. Fitch has also pissed Dana off before with the UFC Undisputed situation and he's far from a top draw in the UFC, and IMO if he pisses Dana off too much he'll either be on the undercard next or possibly even cut, I think he's that invaluable to the UFC.
If Fitch does take another fight, who does he go against? Story wanted to fight him but his recent loss counts that out. I highly doubt Fitch would take on Brenneman.

I'd like to see Fitch fight Shields (after he disposes of Ellenberger). Always wondered how that fight would go.

I think Ellenberger beats Shields, but loses to Fitch. I dont know there all pretty evenly matched up.

I think Fitch should just do fight after fight after fight, and rack up decisions or finishes if possible and just make a case for himself threw actions. Hes already done enough, but the only way to prove yourself as a fighter is to fight.

Yeah, he has nowhere else to go. Nobody is going to get a title fight off of a draw (in the UFC), much less somebody who has already fought for the title and got destroyed against the current champ, and much much less somebody who most people find boring. He has to fight highly ranked opponents, but now they are all taken because he decided to wait it out. Brenneman is probably his best option now.
Putting Penn against Condit is probably the best option for the UFC. I was one of the only people who wanted a rematch between Penn and Fitch.

I'd think Fitch goes back to fighting new comers, middle of the pack guys and crying about a title shot. I am glad they aren't wasting another BJ Penn fight on Fitch but if he is ready to fight by fall there are no real contenders left for him to fight. Well there is always Josh Koscheck...

this is a way for the UFC and DW to force fitches hand if they do not really want him anymore.........he doesn't want to fight anyone but the top and if the top isn't available then he'll be screwed......or be forced to do what he has been doing for the last few years.......fight whomever they give him

The biggest problem isn't Fitch, it's GSP. GSP's fights have become boring and the Shields and Kos fights people were pretty vocal about. If GSP was entertaining, Fitch would probably get a second chance, but it appears they are doing their best to find entertaining fighters. Hence Koscheck and his overhand punches and now Diaz with his alwasy FOTN fights.

he should move up to MW, he would dominate that division and win a title there......look at Sonnen he cant finish a fight either, he LnP all of his fights only difference is that Sonnen is a s--- talker.....Fitch is a much better fighter than Sonnen imo I think he easily beats Anderson and because the division is so weak he can be a force there
