With the convoluted UFC middleweight division seemingly with no real legitimate number 1 contenders, who do you think are the top 10 fighters.
1. Anderson Silva - No discussion here.
2. Chael Sonnen - Beat previous number 1 contender, fighting for belt in August.
3. Vitor Belfort - Already named number 2, after Sonnen.
4. Damian Maia - Survived his title shot. Can move to the top three with a win over Belcher.
5. Nate Marquart - Needs a win against Palhares to stay relevant.
6. Alan Belcher - Young and on the rise. A victory over Maia would put him in the top three.
7. Wanderlei Silva - A victory over Akiyama would put him in contention due to his popularity.
8. Rousimar Palhares - Only loss to Dan Henderson. A win over Nate would put him in the top 5.
9. Michael Bisping - Inconsistent, but against top competition.
10. Yoshihiro Akiyama - Controversial win over Belcher. Needs a win against Wanderlei.
10. Yushin Okami - Toss up between Okami and Akiyama. No big wins in the last few years.
You guys are up.

good rankings, while im a big fan of Rousimar he shouldnt be ahead of Okami - he hasnt beat anyone in the top 10. Also how can belcher be so far ahead of Akiyama who beat him...

The Akiyama fight with Belcher was extremely close, alot of people had Belcher winning that one. One of the judges gave Akiyama a 30-27, or something like that, complete BS, cause he didn't come close to winning each round.

I was there live at UFC 100. I scored it 30-27 for Akiyama. Then I rewatched the fight, and scored it 30-27 for Akiyama

Do you mean where they rank in terms of getting a title shot or being the best fighter???
I'll rank the best fighters imo;
1. Silva
2. Marquardt (one bad fight against Sonnen, I think he'd be totally different in a rematch)
3. Belfort
4. Maia
5. Sonnen
6. Akiyama
7. Belcher
8. Wanderlei
9. Okami
10. Bisping

It's funny how just as many if not more scored it for Akiyama, but somehow he gets no credit for it. if i hadn't watched the fight and only went by what Belcher fans were writing, i would assume Belcher knocked him out in the first half of the first round.

i have belfort at 5 because his one fight in the ufc was at 195 i believe he is the 3rd best fighter but dont think he deserves to be ranked that high without fighting at 185.

Kind of like how W. Silva gets a win over Bisping who is a borderline top 10 MW and that elevates him to a 7-9 MW ranking? very bizarre..

which would be why he is ranked 9th he beat a borderline top 10 mw so he became a boarderline top 10 mw.

I guess.. in my opinion after that fight Bisping should have dropped in rating and Silva gone up slightly.. not a top 10 rank tho..

lets be honest, Wand is a top 10 UFC MW because the division is still among one of the worst in mma, although very much improved

Bisping in my honest opinion doesn't have a chance to crack top 5 in mw division.

I did it based on a combination of most likely to get title shots/wins/popularity etc.
I put Belcher ahead of Akiyami, based on my opinion that Belcher is more likely to get a title shot/move closer to title contention with a win over Maia, then Akiyami is with a win over Wanderlei.

You sure it wasnt you who missed the fights? The opponents AS faced were so below him he barely even fought them.. And still won without a scratch..
