Welcome to the first installment of Triple M, a new Junkie Idol series that features MMA, Movies, and Music topics. For those new to the Junkie games, any category relevant to these topics will be fair game. Each round I will present a category, and you will private message me your submission relevant to that category, usually in the form of a video clip and a write up. I will gather all the submissions and present it to the judges without any identifications. Judges will score the submissions on a scale of 10.

This year elimination system will be different from past seasons. We will have 3 preliminary rounds to determine the top 8 players to advance to the quarterfinals. The top 8 will be ranked and seeded based on their performances in the prelims. They will be matched up head to head 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5, until we end up with the 2 finalists. Prize will be $300 and the first ever Triple M Junkie title.

Pick a scene from a movie or show that has the most accurate depiction of MMA, based on technique or lack of technique.
+2 bonus if the movie or show does not fall into the Martial Arts genre according to imdb.com
+2 bonus if the scene has a musical score that the judges like or think enhances the scene

Players can choose from the same movies, but can't pick the same scene. You get to reserve 1 pick at a time.
Let's make this due next Mon. 5/25. Anyone can still join this game during this Round 1, I just need your submission to make it official.

You pick however you want to answer with your write-up or video clip or whatever.

Survive the rounds, answering to various things within the category.

If you win, you get $300.

You need a write-up to accompany your video clip, but this one needn't be long. You should be able to explain your clip in a paragraph I would think. Some rounds may require a longer write-up, but that is up to you.

Man, this has been a lot easier than I first thought. Write-ups more or less done already, just a couple of tweaks needed. Funny that I googled some ideas, scenes etc, could not find shit or think of anything and the two I thought of just came to me. One was taken, the other I managed to lock in.

This could very well be a gong show with judges having differences of opinions, but then again, all of them know their shit on MMA so it might not be as bad.

I found when judging Christmas idol there were differences in both judging and entries from a UK culture vs USA culture point of view, some of your and holydel entries which I thought were brilliant others didn't get and vice versa.

I think this will be more balanced and focus on what the judges value from a technique and choice stand point

For sure, I had to learn that my way of thinking isn’t always the way that American judges would be thinking. I have to cater to them in a way, unless I see a UK entry that makes sense to pick, I don’t normally go down that route.

@Smartgan used to always be a strong competitor in this game, then about half way or towards the end he would put in an Irish entry(cuz he’s from fucking Dublin lol), sometimes it used to help him but other times it would normally fuck him up. That huge risk is usually not for me anymore.

I started winning some when I did that. This Triple M one though with MMA, Music, Movies, we all should be on the same page cuz there will be a lot of American choices in them all.
