That's fair. But they should also be pointed out that if that is the measuring stick then Serena's competition during her career was far from JV BC.

Then Jordan should not be on your mount Rushmore. People have won more championships (a bunch). People have scored more points (a bunch). People have made more money (Lebron and Steph).

You cannot have it both ways in your subjectiveness.

And besides, Serena is the greatest female tennis player of all time, who openly admitted she would never even try to replicate a Billy Jean King vs male match as the result would not go well for her (look up the interview), and that should be enough for now.

You could literally have made 3/4 of those names up and I would not know the difference.

Big difference between whoever tf most of those randos are and Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neil, Charles Barkley, etc etc in terms of actual athletic competition.

You're making an equivalent argument to saying Amanda Nunes is one of the greatest martial artists of all time because of her resume, while completing ignoring that they faced demonstrably LOWER athletic competition than those they are being compared against.

To wit, the #1 name you cited, Steffi Graf, lost to the 203rd ranked male player in 1992.

You want to argue she's one of the greatest female athletes of all time, fine, go nuts. But she is nowhere CLOSE to the Mount Rushmore of greatest athletes because she has faced nowhere near the same level of athletic competition, hence, JV ball.

I don't think it's really possible to determine objectively. There are too many variables and subjective aspects of comparing different sports. If you want to get really specific, I personally think Alex Honnold free soloing El Capitan is the greatest individual athletic achievement in all of human history. Is he the greatest athlete of all time? No.

None of those are necessarily the perfect equation to goat status as we've seen throughout history.
I'll go a step further and say that champions like Jordan and Ali traverse beyond just athletic greatness which lends to their status.

I'm Not talking about fantasy matchups between males and females I'm talking about them against the The competition they faced in their era.

To the original question if she were to win Wimbledon again at 44 years old after coming out of retirement after 4 years where does that then place her all time If she is already a top 5?
