Alex Honnold has routinely praised the late Canadian alpinist Marc-André Leclerc, calling him a personal inspiration and the climber who has impressed him the most.
It's also worth pointing out that Mark Andre died while descending a successful climb He did not fall He was trapped in an avalanche from above I believe his body still hangs on the side of the mountain today.
None of this negates the fact that free soloing El Capitan is a greater singular achievement. I'm not saying he's a "better climber" or that he has a more impressive career. You are arguing from different metrics.

The problem is defining "athlete".

Is Qawnuhr a good "athlete?"

Absolutely not.
We seen him try to frow a fewtball.
Decent fighter, tho.

Being good at a singular sport doesn't equal "athleticism" in my book.
We've been down this road before and I won't go deep into it. But I disagree. Your thesis here indicates that Michael Phelps or Joe Montana aren't athletic because the former can't throw a pass and the latter can't win swimming competitions. They are both obviously athletic.

It takes way more balls, but, most of the time, you're digging in boot spikes and ice picks and climbing up. Sure, hopefully that shit holds, but the miniscule finger and toe holds you have work with on big-wall rock climbing can be equally as impressive.

Don't get me wrong, I give props to all these crazy fuckers.
Do you remember the scene in
The ALPINIST Where Alex is watching Mark Andre in astonishment as he traverses the "Stanley Headwall"?

In the film, famous free soloist Alex Honnold sits near the base of a Canadian rock wall and narrates his astonishment upon watching Canadian alpinist Marc-André Leclerc free soloing huge, unstable walls of ice and snow. As Honnold talks, the camera pans out to show Marc-André scaling the notorious Stanley Headwall, a daunting, sheer mixed-climbing crag in the Canadian Rockies

They are both obviously good at their chosen profession.

100%. That was impressive. If we're still comparing here, though...He climbed 500 ft at a time with crampons and ice picks. Again, balls to the max because you hope that shit all holds, that's the extra that comes with ice climbing/using those tools. But Alex climbed 3,000ft at once and had to rely on his fingers and toes only.

Anyway, both amazing climbers. Makes me wanna go back and start watching all those docs again, lol.

Sez the guy who called Venus Williams a "Rando" ?
Lol.

Ugh..wrong again.
(All caps won't make right
It depends on what sport my friend.

Long-Distance & Ultra-Running: In multi-day and 200+ mile foot races, female athletes routinely outperform male competitors. Pam Reed achieved this by becoming the overall winner of the grueling 135-mile Badwater Ultramarathon in both 2002 and 2003
.
Open-Water Swimming: In ultra-marathon swims, such as crossing the English Channel or the 20-mile California-to-Catalina swim, women have repeatedly posted faster all-time records than the closest men. This is largely due to body composition, buoyancy, and efficient pacing
.
  • Shooting & Precision Sports: In events emphasizing fine-motor control, breath, and focus, women frequently outperform men. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, for example, Chinese shotgun shooter Zhang Shan made history by winning the gold medal—and setting an Olympic record—in the mixed-gender skeet shooting event. [1, 2, 3]
  • Ultra-Cycling: In extreme multi-day endurance cycling, women have directly competed against and defeated hundreds of men. In 2019, Fiona Kolbinger won the Transcontinental Race, cycling 4,000 kilometers across Europe and beating over 200 male participants in the process. [1]
  • Historical Exhibitions: Early female athletes frequently bested men in public

.
The list goes on....🤔

I get that your really ON the male vs female aspect of this.
But when talking about athletic piers it's tough to say that Serena had any that reached her peak and even someone as simple as you should be able to wrap their pin head around it.

Gawddamn
This^^ is why we can't have nice things for f*** sake. 🤣
.
You have literally just named endurance sports, and sports that dont require what is considered athletics in its traditional sense. Neither of which is in any way comparable. You're literally just AI'ing "what sports have women beaten men in" to try and bolster your shitty, flawed argument.

And my whole point HAS BEEN that she had no athletic PEERS, which means she simply can't be the greatest ATHLETE due to not having competition.

In fact, the closest PEER you mentioned was beAt by a LITERAL random male tennis player. Handily. Which shows the level of competition she beat. You can't say Bishop Gorman is the best high school football team if all they play are the JV team of 2A schools. You need like competition to be able to make that claim

Again, you want to say she's the greatest female athelte go ahead. But greatest athlete, she is not, and you having to resort to open water swimming to try and refute that just further proves it.

You are cherry picking examples when there is a vast and overwhelming number of sports where men will always outperform women. Those examples do not negate the fact that men do better than women >99% of the time.
He's not even cherry picking. He having to ChatGPT it to back up a totally shit argument.

Endurance sports and shooting lmao. Two "sports" where it can be argued true athleticism matters much less than the vast majority of any other sport.

Lol .. I'm not arguing. Ice climbing is inherently more dangerous and unpredictable. I just put it up there a little bit higher than climbing rock that's my opinion
And Even Alex has stated that he is/was inspired by Mark Andre's abilities and accomplishments.

No, I don't think he's trolling, not at all. This is not the first time I've debated with him over opinions I considered outlandish. This lines up perfectly with previous positions.
Who would think that's such a benevolent opinion as Serena Williams is possibly the greatest athlete of the last 100 years is trolling. ?😕
You would have to live in a goddamn cave.

Well if you're reading the exchange between me and Crete.
I wasn't cherry picking I was giving reference to his comment that men were physically superior to women in sport.

.
(Crete asked me to tell you to just leave your pom poms by his door.🤣

They are. You had to AI it and all you could come up with was the most niche of niche sports that don't even really factor in traditional athelticism.

Thereby further proving my point. Your claim is stupidly indefensible and you know it.
