I figure U.S. ratings for the final went down by about 70% because of England being out. Who gives AF if Spain or Argentina wins in this country? Nobody.
Alot of Latinos in the US watching this tournament, and Argentina is like a backup team to many of them because of Messi. It will be well watched in the US. Probably even more so than Spain vs England.

TV Ratings: World Cup Quarterfinals Smash Previous U.S. Highs

All four matches beat the previous English- and Spanish-language records for a game in that round of the tournament.

The hosts are out, but the audiences have stayed.

The quarterfinals of the World Cup delivered their four largest audiences ever in the United States — in both English and Spanish — continuing to fuel a run of big ratings for Fox Sports and Telemundo. While they didn’t reach the record-setting heights of matches involving co-hosts Mexico and the United States in the previous round, any fears of viewers abandoning the World Cup after the hosts (including Canada, also out in the round of 16) were eliminated were unfounded.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Argentina and Spain is projected to draw a global audience of up to 1.5 billion viewers. In the United States, broadcasters project viewership to exceed the 26 million average from the 2022 final, with forecasts anticipating a peak near 35 to 40 million viewers across Fox and Telemundo/Peacock.

Who is excited for the 3rd place MegaBowl!?!?

French players clearly do not give a shit about this game. They look hungover.
When I heard they were playing a third-place game (I had no idea), I thought to myself "what kind of loser-ass country would celebrate winning that?"

Imagine doing that in the NCCA BB tourney or the NFL playoffs? Good lord no.

There is some prize money at stake, and its like the Olympics where people play for a bronze.
