There were times when my wife went down the Lougle rabbit hole and it got pretty dark and depressing. Fortunately, we'd see a specialist and get a test done and they'd confirm it wasn't the REALLY scary thing. (eventually ended up being MS, which isn't/wasn't the best case... but very far from worst case given what she was facing. It was a crazy multi-year journey getting there though, which I've typed about at length before so I'll pass on doing that again here)

Yeah man, I feel like I'm in that exact stage right now. Probably not the worst case but it is in play so my brain ruminates on that until it is ruled out. It messes with you when you see reddit threads with people discussing how their problem started and it is veeerry similar to what you are experiencing. I've stayed away from that stuff for a while but got sucked in this past weekend so it's in my head now.

But... I'll go play some poker and distract myself lol. Playing a ton of poker lately and my game is on point!

OMG I feel like I'm about to go on a murderous rampage. I'm not even going to go into the bullshit that went on today but my MRI got cancelled AGAIN and I am bumped back another god damn week. I even called the insurance company myself today to ask them if there is anything I can do to get this approval done today instead of Monday because the MRI place needed the approval today. They told me that literally ANY NP from the hospital can call them and ask them to expedite the approval today and they'll do it.... it doesn't even need to be the NP I am seeing. And they even gave me a direct number for the hospital staff to call. All I needed was for someone on the neuro staff to make a 2-minute call to them and this will all taken care of!! Nope.

And this is after I originally asked the staff to expedite this approval on Monday because they just didn't do it at all for me last week the first time I asked them to do it. But instead they put in for a normal approval which takes 7 days. And they didn't call me back to tell me that, they instead sent me a portal message that I couldn't reply to. So I left several more messages this week asking if they can try to expedite this, 7-days will be too late, and no one returned any of the messages. So today I called 4 times to 4 different numbers. I got through to 2 different people who said they sent the neuro staff a 'high priority message' to please take care of this today and nada. So the MRI got cancelled again and bumped back yet another week.

I just called the hospital's patient relations line to go off on the neurology staff. I doubt the relations rep is going to get anything done for me but she said she'll reach out to them and see if they can call the insurance company and then pull any strings at the MRI place to get me in sooner. Yeah ok.... the can't even get my normal appointment done.

I seriously can't remember the last time I was this angry. I am irrationally angry right now. This is 18 months of this shit coming to a head right now and I really want to break something. :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:

I think I'm going to go listen to some Limp Bizkit Break Stuff.

I really thought about doing that that today but I also thought I might flip the fuck out there because there is probably a 1% chance that would have worked. It's a giant hospital and the odds of getting the right person to come out and help me on a Friday afternoon would be slim.

My only respite is that the approval is scheduled to be approved on its own on Monday whether they help me or not. Monday is too late to keep my Tuesday appt but after Monday, I should be all approved so I won't be getting bumped back again. I'm now scheduled for the 25th. (I was originally schedule for the 11th smh). Then I have an appointment scheduled with Penn Neurology the first week of September. I will be more than happy to get the MRI done and then switch over to them with the MRI already in hand and get the F out of DE with this.

Normally I can be patient but it so happens my headaches are in full bloom and I can't take the damn meds for it until I get this MRI. You would think the neuro staff that has treated my headaches for 8 years now would be sensitive to that issue and help me out here. Fuck them.

idk man I would go for it. kindness + explanation of your condition + pleading for in person help to get you well may achieve something. chances are always much better when face to face.

It really shouldn't be that hard to get them to do what they are supposed to do. But I was warned about this from a couple of other providers I've seen. They told me to go elsewhere for this care. Now I know why. I think that place is just too big.

So I got sucked into watching this guy named Anthony Vinci on C-Span last night talking about his book The Fourth Intelligence Revolution. This guy was an intelligence officer in the navy during the Iraq war, then left for 20 years to run a tech company, then was invited back to be an intelligence officer again which he did. And his whole premise was how much 'intelligence' had changed in the 20 years he was out and what it looks like now and what it is used for.

It was fascinating. He was talking about AI and how intelligence officers are going to be replaced by AI soon. He was talking about how China gathers its intelligence through apps like TikTok and how they use that data to exert influence on American public opinion. When I was listening to that I was thinking, how is that any different than American companies doing the exact same thing lol. His explanation was that American companies are regulated and can be investigated and held to standards that China cannot. But then you watch a video like this one you posted and how FanDuel is doing the exact same thing and I don't see any regulation going on there lol. But that is all for profit so in America that is great! Whereas China wants us to not care about them taking back Tibet and their other goals. They don't want us to interfere so they monitor our thinking and plant messages through media like TikTok to dissuade us from caring about them. That's how they keep us from interfering or going to war over these issues, by actively using this intelligence in this way. And it just started... it's only going to get worse. So his book is about how to recognize it and protect yourself on an individual level. Interesting stuff.

There is certainly a lot of foreign influence through social media youtube reddit etc, it's hard to say which comments are from real people anymore

It's interesting the connection you make to gambling apps, not exactly the same but I can see your point

He pled guilty today.

And for once it is not the insurance company pissing me off, it's the doctors and staff who are supposed to be helping me. The insurance company was actually slightly helpful today lol (although they could have just approved me today... they have an approval 'scheduled' for the 17th. WTF is that?? Just give it to me now!)
