NFL / College Football News and Live Watching

Just finished. Everything I saw was accurate, just with the caveat that any sumo outside of Japan is basically a joke (exception of Mongolian bokh wrestling) and the distance from being a champ in Japan to being a champion in anywhere else like being the champion of the British Premier league versus the Iraqi Premier league.

Ichinojo 100% let Kelce have that win for shits and giggles. He is one of the sumo wrestlers who I can say would have made pro as an O lineman in the NFL.
bro you're an expert at some weird and random shit.

which I applaud.

Behold, the Jon Jones of sumo (in every way in which that statement could apply). Asashoryu. Career cut short because he beat the shit out of waiter and got thrown out of the sport. Was the main rival for the GOAT Hakuho, who is the Fedor of sumo.

Reminds me of the legendary Tyler Palko MNF game.

This paragraph, from a December article in The New Yorker about Gruden, was a perfect microcosm of Jaws' time in the booth:

When it was Jaworski's turn, he issued a stern proclamation. "Call me crazy, but I'm really excited for Tyler Palko tonight," he said, and a roomful of skeptical sports producers erupted in laughter. Jaworski had given himself the thankless task of building up the Chiefs, praising them as much as he could without putting his own credibility at risk. Perhaps viewers would buy into the idea, however far-fetched, that Palko would emerge as the night's underdog hero. Later that day, as Jaworski was making a cup of coffee in the ESPN bus, he tried the line again. "Call me crazy, but I'm excited about Tyler Palko," he said. He exhaled. "I've got to sell this," he said to himself.

He became a carnival barker, not a football analyst. That may have been his own doing or based on the suggestions of ESPN producers. Regardless, the mentality to promote the game rather than describe it, which seems to be shared by Tirico and Gruden, is a big reason why "Monday Night Football" has become borderline unwatchable in recent years. It's not a football game anymore; it's a promotional vehicle. (That's only going to get worse when Gruden is given a bigger stage.)

Psssh.... Tyler Palko never had a 3TD game vs the lethal Cardinals pass defense. Not even a comparison!!

EDIT - Ha! Look at that! The NFL has blocked all Joe Milton links.... they know what is coming!

Chargers tickets against playoff foe cost less than a beer

The Chargers have to win a game eventually, right?

Entering Week 9 of the NFL season, the slumping team is 0-7. But Chargers fans who are still hoping to see the squad win its first game of the season can attend the upcoming Nov. 8 matchup for less than a beer.

The Chargers and Texans square off at SoFi Stadium on Sunday with the get-in price listed at only $12, according to TickPick. The NFL's lone winless team has two of the cheapest get-in prices for a regular-season game. The Chargers' Nov. 22 matchup against the Jets starts at $16.

The Chargers haven't won a game since Dec. 21 against the Cowboys. Dating back to last season, the team is 0-10 in its last 10 games.

Their losing streak began against the Texans on Dec. 27. Almost a year later, the Chargers will face Houston again looking for its first win of the 2026 season.

The Chargers have gone 27 consecutive drives without a touchdown, the NFL's longest streak since the 2024 Dolphins, who were coached by Mike McDaniel.

As offensive coordinator in LA, McDaniel is leading the NFL's worst offense.

The third year of the Jim Harbaugh era in Hollywood was slated to be the best yet. However, it appears Harbaugh and general manager Joe Hortiz have no answers for the winless Chargers at this point in the season.
