Tell me this isn't plain 1938-style antisemitism. How is this allowed?

Philly anti-Israel groups plan boycott of Jewish businesses before Kristallnacht anniversary

The graphic explicitly singles out several dining locations in the city, displaying crossed-out warning icons over the names Mac Mart, K'Far Cafe, Huda, Goldie, Dizengoff, and Schlesinger's.

Anti-Israel activists in Philadelphia have scheduled a bicycle boycott ride targeting Jewish-owned and Israeli-associated local businesses, with the demonstration deliberately set to take place on November 8, falling on the eve of the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the 1938 Nazi-orchestrated pogrom targeting Jewish communities, homes, and businesses in Germany and Austria.

Organized by Philly Bike On Your Left in collaboration with Boycott CookNSolo and Philly Solidarity Calendar, the promotional flyer for the event posted on social media features an illustration of a bicycle overlaid with red prohibition symbols targeting specific local establishments.

It's allowed because anti-Semitism, and all hate speech, is allowed under free speech. Hate speech does not equal prohibited speech.

If they so wanted, The Ku Klux Klan could plan a boycott of all Black owned businesses of an area on Juneteenth and it would be no different.

How is not going somewhere not allowed?

I mean I'm not saying that I agree with it or that I'd be out spreading the word, but it's not much different than "support only Black and minority owned businesses today, don't shop at White owned stores" type events and those happen all the time out here.

Oh look, we're saying the same thing again lol.

For the record, I had not seen your post before I wrote mine (I wouldn't have bothered, you covered it)

And to be very clear to others... I'm not saying that it's a good thing or that people aren't allowed to be offended by it. I'm somewhat offended when I see flyers/social media posts/websites instructing people to not shop at (white) friends local businesses, which then list a bunch of Black owned businesses to shop at instead.

My buddy Eric runs his own barbershop and was the target of one of these campaigns last summer, it's bullshit.

My response was more of a... "Yup, it's somehow perfectly legal and happens to many other non-Jewish groups as well. Welcome to the club!"

While I agree that it is completely legal, it is also a very troubling sign in a series of signs that show no sign of slowing. It's just a very disturbing trend that definitely has familiar echoes from history. I'm not saying there are going to be yellow stars and concentration camps, but this isn't going anywhere good.

Me? Argue over semantics? With Bucky?

Jeez man, you live in fantasyland, that would never happen.

Correct.

We might disagree over definitions, but we would never argue semantics

Hamasniks and 'anti-Israel' activists, best thing that people wanting to boost aliyah numbers could ever ask for.

I am just glad that this time, the vast majority of antisemites in the Western world would shatter their own wrists from shooting a gun and would drink laundry detergent if there was no warning label.

Oh would you look at that! Two house seats flipped by the Elephants! Don't call it a comeback!

(I kid, I honestly haven't been following it outside of laughing when JD Vance said, "maybe we underestimated how pissed off people would be about gas prices and unnecessary wars 7000 miles away")

Idk about you I'm looking forward to the next two years of endless "investigations" and holier-than-thou lecturing that's coming! Because that's clearly what the people voted for, not quality of life improvements!

I mean, if Iran was nearly at nuclear enrichment levels, then crippling their infrastructure, leadership, and R&D teams was 100% the right call, and the second order consequences are the second order consequences. His mistake was going into it half-cocked and with no real plan expecting a color revolution to just materialize, and then playing the spineless ameba with the IRGC about reopening Hormuz.

Their mistake was going out of their way to say that Iran's nuclear program was 'obliterated, and suggestions otherwise were fake news' in June.

If their program was obliterated and years away from posing a threat, why did we need to strike in February to stop them from something we were assured was years away?

None of it made any sense, and they still haven't given us anything concrete to illustrate why the attacks had to happen when they did other than Rubio on day essentially one saying "Israel said they were going to attack, we weren't going to let them attack alone because Iran would have hit them back hard, so we joined in to limit what Iran could retaliate with"... which he quickly walked back.

Whatever though, this is all old news and what's done is done.

Obviously it's become a big deal and from the amount of support for these businesses on social media I'll cautiously say that this is gonna blow in these "activists" face
