Watched Carmouche fight tonight and thought that Andrade looked a little small. And I remember another girl fighting in the UFC saying she was usually a 125er but wanted to fight in the UFC.
How long do you think until the UFC introduces a second division? if not 125 maybe 115 to bring in a hole slew of tiny fighters?
I think it might be a while. You see once Rousey takes a loss that's pretty much it for the WMMA. I'm not saying they will get rid of it because that'll never happen. It's already an investment for the UFC...BUT...it's just going to be hard to market it without her being Champ. I mean did you see the intro to the Ultimate Fighter, the poster of Rousey? She's posing like a supermodel, not a fighter.
There's been talk of a 125lb division being brought in, not sure how serious that talk is though. I'd rather the UFC got some depth in their flyweight & womens bantamweight divisions before adding another though.

I think the majority of talent is 135 or 125. You have several girls that could probably drop to 125 if the division opened up (Zingano, Andrade, LaRosa, come to mind). Plus you've got some that are big bantams and could move to 145 if that division opened up (McMann, Nunes, de Randamie).
Plus yoy have the talent coming out of TUF 18. The womens division is becoming surprisingly deeper than many imagined.
Still want to see them sign Holly Holm, Jessica Eye, and Cyborg.

I don't know if deeper is the term. I'd use "developing". See I'm not remotely impressed with WMMA. I'm not impressed with the flyweights either. It's hard to hype up fights with the division champion when their opponent has 1 UFC win or something like that. Championship fights are made from seeing the challenger rise up through the UFC then see him try and take the belt. It's a build up. Right now WMMA and Flyweight division doesn't have that, not yet.

Oh, I think he was a little different. Even though he was in another promotion many thought he was the best LW in the world. No other person has been perceived that way. Strikeforce was the #2 MMA promotion. I think if DC was the actual SF HW champion and was fighting at let's say....ATT then it would have the same punch when he came over. It's rare that happens since the UFC is basically the lone MMA powerhouse.

The division will go on even after a Rousey loss, Meisha could be a marketable champ as well, and you know Dana will give Rousey an immediate rematch. So Rousey almost has to lose two times in a row, for her hype to end. Also they still have a possible super fight with Cyborg in the future.

no, there should be no more divisions. UFC has even indirectly pointed to Invicta, as being the premier promotion for WMMA. UFC should just have WMMA 135 lb division for now. create a legacy of that being the premier division for WMMA, which it is since it has the most talent.

Couldn't agree more add depth into the thin weight classes already before add even more weight classes,
How Darrell Montague is not signed by ZUFFA yet is beyond me

Would rather see the HW division cut in half and made into two divisions before another women's or mens division added.

I've never understood this. There's barely any quality outside the top 10 HW division just now, why would you split those fighters into 2 divisions? I mean yeah you'd probably get some LHWs going up but outside the top 10 it's not exactly a great division either. You'd just end up with 3 divisions with some great top 5 fighters and the rest of the fighters being fairly low quality.

What's your point? there's barely quality outside 145 in the mens and nearly zero quality outside 125 of women's division.
