true about Carwin, but he has to get past Gonzaga first, if he doesn't, he doesn't get a shot for a while IMO. Cain is not more powerful than Overeem.When cain fights someone good, let me know. He couldn't even knock out his last opponent which pretty much just stood in front of him and took his punches all fight long. He might be there one day, but right now AListair has way more experience on fighting ranked guys and knocking them out

Gonzaga is another guy more powerful than Overeem, I mean afterall it was Gonzaga vicious KO of Mirko that sent him on the tailspin he couldn't recover from. And while on this tailspin, Overeem couldn't put Mirko down (he was winning the stand up before all the illegal knees, but he couldn't drop Mirko and certainly never put him out).

His last fight in K-1 dynamite, KO'd one of the top k-1 kickboxers in the world that everyone thought would kick Overeem's butt. He didn't put mirko down because they kept stopping the fight because of his knees, he was going down the fight if the fight went on and win the fight, everyone knew that

Kickboxing is not MMA.
And everyone doesn't know that Mirko was going down, yes Overeem was winning the fight, but I have seen plenty of Overeem's fights where he was winning early and then got dominated late.
I would guess if the only fight you can point to isn't a MMA fight, you pretty much proved my point.

you mean when he was a LHW? He's a different fighter since then, just watch his last year of fighting. That's like saying Ken-flo is the same fighter now as he was when he was in the ultimate fighter

hence the reason he needs to fight in the UFC, so everyone can see where he's at. Fighting in Japan, he'll end up like Fedor where everyone doubts that he was still good because of the level of competition and then he signs with afflictions and destroys top 10 HW's in 1 round! Same thing will happen to Alistair IMO if he joins the UFC. People like you will say, he sucks, he never fought anyone good, etc, etc, then he fights all these UFC top 10 HW's and beats them and your opinion and everyone else's change. That's how I see it in my head. I could be wrong, but only time will tell and if he signs with the UFC or not

I don't think he sucks, I just don't think he could hang with the best HW's in the world, whether they are in the UFC or Affliction doesn't matter. And frankly I have never seen anything from Overeem which would lead me to conclude otherwise.

So now Lawlwer and Overeem are overhyped? Wow! I don't think the UFC thought so, they were recruiting him to fight opposite bisping in the US vs UK TUF series. Dana is not one to go out of his way to recruit a lot of people outside of the UFC, they usually come to him, so If he went out of his way to do so, that should tell you something right there. Dana definately didn't think he was overhyped by anymeans!

Lawler is no where near the 2nd ranked MW in the world, anyone that actually thinks he is needs his head examined. Lawler would add some depth to the MW division and the UFC needs some fresh blood since Anderson has beaten almost all the other top guys, so it would make sense for the UFC to sign him. That said, Lawler being ranked #2 is ridiculous and shows how overhyped he is.
At least in the case of Overeem he isn't ranked anywhere in the top ten on the major rankings.

Look, Denis Kang is in the UFC. He wouldn't be there if Dana didn't want him. Dana just recruited and brought back Ricardo Almeida out of retirement not that long ago. He wasn't a top ten MW. Dana also just recruited Cael Uno back to the UFC. He is far from a top ten LW. Dana has met a few times with Overeem trying to bring him to the UFC, Overeem is not a top ten HW.
Not every fighter the UFC signs is a top ten fighter or an up and comer. to think otherwise is silly.

I never said "people that sign with the UFC", I said people that Dana goes out of his way to recuit and contact them before they contact the UFC. THere's a HUGE difference!!!!!!!!
Signing someone who agrees to terms that comes to the UFC is one thing, when Dana and/or the UFC who rarely every does that, goes out of there way to do that like they did with Robbie Lawler and Alistair, than it means something. Twisting people's words to sound a different way to win an argument is "silly"

where are u getting these facts that Dana "recruited" almedia and Uno? Like I said most people come to the UFC or to Dana because they want to make a deal, it's very rare for Dana to contact the person first, when he does do that, it means something. That's what were arguing about. Your saying Robbie and Alistair aren't great fighters yet there are stories about Dana going out of his way to contact these guys when he never does. That's the point. Until you can prove that he actually did the recruiting and not just saying it, it's just a story you made up in your head IMO. My proof has already been documented on sherdog.com articles
