you said he wasnt even an olimpian, and he was, and his main style was folky, as long as I know (I could be veeeeeery wrong, wrestling isnt my favorite sport) there is no folky in the olimpics...

A black belt in bjj is overrated. Very overrated. Just like wrestling credentials don't really matter.
You can be the most credentialed dude ever and still be beaten at your own game. It's all about how well you transition your skillset to mma.

It all depends.... If your legitimately a BJJ Black belt I think it isnt overrated. Once you get to that 2 stripe BJJ Blue belt you could stop doing traditional bjj( ie. Rampage), and concentrate on MMA BJJ. But if your legitimately a Black belt, you probably have good technique and skill. Explosiveness and athleticism doesnt get taught like this though.
