That probably just means Carwin couldn't afford to go to a better school than he did. Says nothing about his wrestling ability.

it speaks to the level of coaching he recieved in college, it speaks to the level of competition he faced.
so yeah, i think it indicates what kind of wrestler it is. sure, in a pure sense of the word it doesn't say anything about his ability, but you can't assume that it means he's more than a very good Div-2 wrestler. he hasn't proven otherwise.
him being too poor to afford a div-1 school is less likely than him just not being good enough to get a scholarship to a div-1 school

Personally, I think getting rocked by Gonzaga, taken to the ground by one of the best jiu jitsu practicing heavyweights in the world and getting back to his feet was pretty impressive.
I don't know, maybe it's just me who feels that way. I mean, I know a lot of people on these boards have a problem with GG(despite him always facing stiff competition), but I think Carwin's display of fortitude was phenomenal.
Call me crazy.

Standing up against GG doesn't mean he can stand up against Lesnar. Still I think it's highly possible that Carwin has the ability to stuff Lesnar's TD and get back to his feet from the mat. Randy Couture did it. The only thing is how much better is Lesnar now than he was when he faced Couture.
