this fight makes total sense. Stann has won his last 3 of 4 and is a somewhat young fighter who the ufc sees potential in. Leben has come back from being on the edge of being cut to win 2 impressive fights. This win will vault the winner into the top of the heap. Also this fight will be fireworks

I think he gets this fight due to his background. UFC's involvement with the military is playing a role in the background somehow. UFC is taking a shot at makng him the poster boy for our military if he succeeds? Idk...crazy maybe?

I think Stann can stay on the outside and use a more technical stand up game to outpoint the Crippler.

it is "stacked" now only because AS has shown he is beatable........if he destroyed Sonnen no one would say the division is stacked....

NO if Anderson would of dominated Sonnen everyone would say its not stacked.....stack means when there is a bunch of great fighters. Like LHW it changes hands ever fight it seems....now that division is stack.
Anderson's opponents for the MW title have been Sonnen, Maia, Leites, Cote...you call that stacked???
Vitor is fighting for the title next...........he hasnt even had a MW fight yet in UFC and why do they give him the title shot instead of other fighters??? cause the division sucks. Is not stacked man, Im sorry to disappoint you. I really doubt Anderson would have dominated LHW the way he dominated MW....because the division has been so weak.
Marquardt won one fight after completely getting his *** kick and now he is fighting for a title shot.......you call that stacked??

Lmfao. Yeah, and everyone said I was crazy for thinking that the UFC would give Chris Leben Dan Miller as his next opponent, looks like the UFC doesn't mind giving Leben a step back in competition, Stann or Miller though the fight would have been exciting. Though, you've got to give it to Joe Silva for putting these two together after both of them came from behind to Triangle Choke their opponents in Fight of the Night performances, both of them have excellent chins, and boxing, man it's moments like these that let you know Joe Silva really does think about match-ups (sometimes).

really bummed about this fight.....its like each time there was a new rumor about who he'd fight next there was less and less intrigue. First he called out wandy and its like, "yeeeaaaaa, lets make that fight happen, that would be awesome". that whole thing gets squashed cause the timing isn't right for Wandy who wants to return in Feb. Ok fine. The new rumor then was he'd fight.....i think it was a bisping rematch....and still it was like, "alright, i think leben could win the rematch and i'd be a good fight"....now he's fighting Brian Stann......i really thought they were going to let him jump up in competition.

There's just no one else for him to fight. Stann is a respectable opponent and I'm kinda glad we get to see Leben knock someone else out.
