I want to assume you are just joking but assuming you are not the reason he was popular is because he came along at the right time when WWE fans were tired of John Cena. He actually cut good promos in the WWE and was a fantastic wrassler. He was by far one of the top guys in WWE when he left hence why he is popular now, but at this point I don't care if he ever fights or not.

I've heard numerous stories of him being shitty with people for him not to get any sympathy from me. Refusing to take a photo with a dude in a wheel chair who asks Punk to take the photo for him and answers with "I don't take selfies" and walking off? Yea, f--- that guy.

I'm aware of these stories, and I believe them. He's a celebrity who hates fame, and he takes it out on fans who he thinks have bad intentions when they really just want to thank him for giving them some good memories.
That said, he has not said anything disrespectful to anyone involved in MMA. He cares about MMA, and he wants to make sure that his debut shows how much he cares.
