So Mark Hominick weighed in at 145.25 and it was announced as such.
He then proceded to start hydrating.
This is a title fight in which no weight allowance is given. Its strict to 145 even.
In this case, Mark missed weight.

Maybe not for a quarter? Yeah I thought it was an allowance of 1 pound for non title and even for title fights.

There has always been no allowance for title fights.
Why would .25 be ok?

My understanding is that you are not even allowed a pound overage on a title fight, you have to meet at the exact poundage or under.
So why did MMA Junkie mis-report Hominick's weight?

MMAjunkieJohn John Morgan
FYI - the commission is saying they made a second announcement for Hominick at 145 pounds, but Joe Rogan didn't announce it.
How did they reweigh him, they never made a 2nd announcement.
WTH.
No offense, thats shady.

The commission and Rogan announced 145.25. Hominick got off the scale and started drinking his stuff. Did his photos and they moved to the next guys.
When did they re-weigh Hominick?
Do they mean after the webcasted weigh-ins were over?

Doesnt sound like it.
Sounds like they just reannounced it, right after he weighed.
Tweeting John to try to find out.

I thought you still had a 1 pound allowance but only had 1 chance to make weight.
If you do not make it the first time you do not have the hour or whatever to cut the additional weight.
I do not think its a huge deal, if he took off his shorts the .25 would have been gone

You have 0 allowance for title fights. If you don't make weight, you may be given an hour to try again.

Don't quote me on this, but there may be a small allowance for "
Scale Variance"
.

Some poster on the main page claimed that the UFC doesn't count 0.25 LBS.
So that is why, they claim, Hominick came in on weight.

Thats what i'm thinking there will be an error tolerance in the equipment used which is probably why they only use .5 and nothing in between when announcing weights
