You require a new definition for legend.

Not liking and expecting more are two different things. The guy has exciting fights I just wish they actually mattered.

Wanting more Fedor at this point is a bit foolish. I can get wanting more when pride was done or affliction(even tho he had big fights there) and strike force to a point. But now, fun fights are too be expected. His first opponent was meh, but this here is a fun right. At Fedor's age, I'm not sure why he came back. He's a wealthy man. Maybe he was just bored and had the itch. Idk. But if he wasn't going to go to ufc all those years back, expecting more still is just weird.
Ironicaly, if he went to ufc right away, sylivia and arloski probably stay. Fedor would have fought them there and same result. He would have also gotten Mir and couture. Think he wins those at that time as welthat was the HW division at that time. Junior AMD Cain weren't monsters at that time. I guess there's the chance he could of fought them eventually though so there is that. The HW picture has changed so much from when pride dissolved until now that I think people forget who Fedor would have fought if he signed right.
When he went to affliction he fought aa and syliva and Barnett was the third fight that sadly didn't happen. At that time, those were three High ranking guys(ad couture and Mir nog and cc and that was the cream of the crop at that time). Not like he was ducking big fights against the best in the division. Far from it

Now, then, whenever. Why is it so crazy to expect a highly touted fighter to fight some type of worthy competition that makes things interesting? How is this a "fun fight"? Spoiler alert: Maldonado falls down in the 1st due to inevitable haymaker and ref stops it after some pummelling. Yay fun. Next up Anderson Silva vs Phil Brooks, what a fun fight. Afterwards Dan Henderson vs Anthony Perosh. FUN.

What do you want from a guy nearing 40? I'd get it if he never retired and continued blasting fools and didn't suffer the losses in sf, but that's not the case. If it were, I'd want more as well.

Sadly enough, Maldonado would be Fedors biggest win in 7 years

Fedor is scheduled to fight the biggest punchbag in MMA what a waste of a training camp

When his first fight after retirement was announced, his fans said he needs a one tune up fight before coming to ufc, now its again tune up fight.
Next time when he fights some newcomer, its a tune up fight, till the next which is again tune up fight, and he doesnt have to prove anything his fans say, just like his whole career.

He's 39 years old & quite clearly nowhere near what he used to be, he's never going to have another fight that matters. Ever.
I don't have a problem with that though. What fighters do at the tail end of their career doesn't have an impact on how I view their career as an entirety, so Fedor taking fights like this isn't something that bothers me at all. I'm just happy to get to see him perform a couple more times.

What exactly were people expecting from Fedors return? The guy is 39 & hasn't fought decent competition in 5 years. He's probably making boatloads of cash & it taking some sotfball fights at the end of a legendary career. Isn't that what people realised was going to happen, surely no-one expected him to be taking on top 10 fighters.

Someone try telling that to 42 year old Mark Hunt

Try telling him what?
And again, just because some fighters fight well into their 40s doesn't mean everyone can. The ageing curve is a very real thing, it's the biggest factor in decline in pretty much every sport in the world.

I would buy this more if he wasnt using the same strategy 9 years ago when he was only 30

His whole career has been like that, fighting hasbeen's etc. And his fans always said that he doesnt have to chase anyone, he still doesnt have, but somehow they think he is relevant, even he doesnt fight anyone relevant.
