I really really hate saying this but i think this fight was fixed. 1. Fedor was fatter than ever. 2. The guy is a gold medal judo player and tried nothing close to applying his art. 3. Ref stopped the fight and the guy wasnt out cold he was still moving an fedor didnt even approach him after the knockdown. 4. They had the new year countdown as soon as the fight ended. I realize the other guy isnt anywjere near fedors level in mma but still it was odd.

I wasn't aware that Fedor "being fatter then ever" was a justified reason for why a fight may be fixed. He fought a guy that was fighting his 3rd or 4th fight. Weren't you the guy that always attempted to discredit Fedor back in the day? This thread now makes sense..

He fought a 205'er with 5 fights. Thats what happened.

came in fat.........oh well.........but fedor fighting an undersized opponent is nothing new. most of his career he has fought against smaller opponents or against the same size..........but the few "larger" opponents he beats makes him the best ever and p4p king
or at least it use to be.

Its hard to say, we'll never know, but thats also what I first thought when I saw it live.
Ishii had a terrible gameplan, strike with Fedor, really? Thats about the worst he can come up with. He is coached by Mayhem and crew, who wasn't too bright himself in his last fight. Aslo he is very good at Judo and didn't even try to use it.
Aside from atrocious gameplannig, what really gave it away to me was the TKO. He was hit with three solid punches and fell down on his own, without an actual knock down where your legs give out. He fell to the ground by his own choice, thats very rare in MMA. The only explanation I can see for this is that he has 5 fights and he is coming from a sport with no strikes. Maybe he is the extreme version of brock in a sense that he doesn't like to get hit. Some guys that were part of freakshow fights in pride and dream that have little mma experience also show that tendency to give up after just a few punches without being actually rocked.

I watched the fight to see what you meant and you my friend come off as a troll. There was nothing in that fight that said "fixed." Before Fedor dropped him he hurt him with a right. And when Ishii dropped he was very hurt (not out) but obviously he was not going to recover. I think Fedor has been scared from Werdum that when he drops you he won't follow in driving into the ground. It looked like he was waiting to see if the ref would restart from the feet. But the ref did an excellent job calling it off.
Also as far as I am concerned Fedor looked a lot thinner. Maybe you were focusing on Brock and Overeem and then when you saw Fedor you said "fat." To me he looked in normal Fedor shape.

I just watched the fight, and LOL at OP complaining about the stoppage. The guy was down for about 2 minutes after being knocked out. Fedor never followed up because it was pretty clear the fight was over. Funny how when fighters usually do this, it's a sign of respect, but when Fedor does it, his fight is fixed.

You mean like when he tried to clinch & grapple with Fedor 40 seconds in, but Fedor (a former Sambo World Champion) was able to keep the fight standing.

Not saying that it is fixed. But that did seem pretty sketchy

Erm, no.
1- Ishii beating Fedor in Japan would have been huge and probably made him a breakout star and potentially the saviour of the scene over there.
2- Judo should be pretty well cancelled out by Sambo of the same calibre.
3- Ishii is much smaller and less experienced than Fedor.
4- Fedor managed to end the fight on the feet, rather than expose himself to the ground game - if you remember, he got tapped by Werdum diving after a knock down, GnP'd by a much larger Silva and KO'd by Hendo, again chasing a knockdown and hendo managed to reverse position with his scramble wrestling and get an improbable KO from behind, punching under Fedor's arms.
Went down pretty much as I would have expected TBH.
Now that fedor has some wins behind him, I'd love to see him in the UFC or entering a Bellator tournament...

 good one
Fedor may not be the same but he still good enough to beat the s--- out of someone like Ishii and dont forget Fedor has high level Judo himself and is arguably the greatest Sambo fighter of all time

My thing with fedor being fat i was saying that maybe he didnt train extremely hard. I am a huge fedor fan btw i love te guy. Im not saying it was fixed im just saying it was really odd, and the countdown to new year thing was timed way to perfectly. Idk just a thought.

Im really with you on this one. Might help more of we understood everything being said. The knockdown looked legit. But the fact that fedor didn't even question a follow up kind of irks me. And then of course followed up with the new years count down.....

I think almost everyone has passed the GOAT tag along to Anderson at this point. GOAT is only a slightly more useless debate than P4P.
