The point of G.O.A.T. is that you look at a fighters overall career, not just their last few fights. Regardless, not many people think Fedor is GOAT yet. But I'm sure if Anderson loses he'll no longer be GOAT either.

came in fat.........oh well.........but fedor fighting an undersized opponent is nothing new. most of his career he has fought against smaller opponents or against the same size..........but the few "larger" opponents he beats makes him the best ever and p4p king
or at least it use to be.

smaller opponents most of his career? are you serious? 3 out of 37 smaller/ same size I guess means most?

Not agreeing with most, but only 3 smaller/same size? C'mon bro!
Dan Henderson
Matt Lindland
Ricardo Arona
Renato Sobral
Satoshi Ishii
Mark Coleman
Kevin Randleman
That's 7 natural LHW/MWs off the top of my head.

^^^ I've noticed that in fedors last 5 or so fights he might weigh the same or slightly different, but he can be more flabby, or more fit. His weight doesn't change that much but his gut does

Meh, from looking at google images it doesnt look to me like you have a whole lot behind your argument in terms of "facts," considering you decided he was "fat" last night weighing less, and images of him in the ring throughout his entire career are almost identical.
Oh well, the hate will blow over, have a nice holiday.

Coleman and Randelman were HW's when they fought!!! Did you watch the Arona fight? Arona was bigger and I wasnt counting Ishii so I missed one.

That guy was definitely hurt pretty bad. It could have went a little longer but I think Fedor would have just hurt him more. I think his nose was kind of messed up. I thought it was interesting that Ishii was down for a while, and after a couple of minutes Fedor went to check on him and thank him for the fight (or whatever) and the guy wanted to be respectful so got up to hug him but when Fedor left he went back down. I think he was pretty hurt and out of it but just got up enough to be respectful.

I still don't think people get that Fedor does not care about fighting the best. His name has never been bigger than it is right now so the company that signs him is just using his name to sell tickets. They will continually find him opponents that can't deal with his style and know he's generally going to get through. Don't get me wrong, Fedor has a very exciting style, I think he's an amazing fighter, but he just can't beat the really talented fighters. He's really a HW version of Wanderlei Silva if you think about it. Exciting, well-rounded fighters with great chins/recovery but not particularly unbeatable fighter. And yes I realize he has a crazy record, but he just never consistently fought real top talent and when he did...he never really dominated them - just like Wanderlei.

Did watch the Arona fight, I remembered them being about the same size. Just gone back to watch it again and Arona is more muscular but the size difference is minimal. Coleman and Randleman were HWs when they fought, but it doesn't change the fact they were natural LHWs which was the point I was making. I'm not criticising or belittling Fedor, I just don't buy into this myth that he spent his entire career beating up much bigger guys. Just had a flick through a lot of his earlier opponents Kohsaka, Haseman, Hasdell, Yanagisawa, Valavicius are all listed as being under 230lb. Even Cro Cop, Nog etc. were only a few pounds heavier than him. Anyway I'm just trying to examine the facts, certainly don't want to come across as a hater or troll, I still have him as top 2/3 GOAT and certainly the number 1 GOAT HW.

Most likely a bad mismatch with an undersized, less experienced (hand picked) opponent. I read that Fedor shattered his nose, maybe it also took away his will to continue fighting. Always fair to be scheptical though when an event mixes Pro wrestling with real MMA  ....
