You know this is Brownes second loss with the injury announcement immediately after a fight. Before I question Browne I was wondering on who announced the injury? Did he tell his cornermen during the fight? Was it said during post fight interviews? If you are knowingly injured don't you think the corner should throw in the towel for you

? If you don't think Browne was really hurt you didn't watch that fight. There's no way in hell Travis Browne doesn't fly out of the gate in round 5 if he wasn't. All props to Werdum's body kick though. This excuse is definitely valid. Some guys probably would have quit.

Excuses are dumb. If you're stupid enough to fight with a bad injury and lose, then there should be zero excuses. You could mention it I suppose, but as long as you make it clear that the better man won no matter what.

The problem is fans expectations (including mine) are that when fights are announced they are going to happen. Often times they don't and it's very disappointing. Travis doesn't seem like the type to drop out.

Both injuries were suffered in the cage, clearly affecting his ability to perform. That said both his opponents in those fights deserve all the credit for their wins

Werdum beat his *** the entire fight, did the injury happen after the first minute?

I call BS. Browne can't accept defeat like a real man.

Werdum made him look silly in the cage and the excuses make him look even worse.

I don't see where the Hapa hate is coming from
He broke a rib and a hand and kept fighting...who else would have done that?
phony fans, screaming Hapa! one day arms swinging from that wagon and the next day "He's a loser, we all knew Werdum would win, obvious excuses"
WAR Hapa.

I missed this announcement. Did Browne come into the fight with the broken rib or was it a result of Werdum's kicks?

Well i guess that might explain why he gassed so hard. Still a rather poor excuse considering it was caused by his opponent.

it's not an excuse...I don't think Browne mentioned it at ALL
it was Dana White
NOBODY on here is saying Browne only lost because o the rib, everybody is giving Werdum props all we (or at least I'm) saying is he's a f---ing warrior if he fought through it.

Mark Hunt was tooling JDS until he broke his toe and had his footwork hampered, but never used it as an excuse for the eventual loss even though it was clear to all intelligent and good looking fans that was the only reason.
Yet more proof for The Super Samoan being literally The Best.

Here's my question. When had Browne ever proven his gas tank? Why do people think he has stamina? His only fight outside of the first round in the last several years was against Rob Broughton... And guess what? He gassed and looked horrible in that fight. It was one of the worst HW fights I've seen.

Browne was issued a 90-day term due to a broken nose and a facial laceration about his right eye.

I think if he had broken either his hand or rib there would have been mention of it here.

I have a problem with Dana coming out and criticizing Werdum for supposedly coasting. He beat the piss out of Browne, and wasn't going to get careless in the late rounds after jumping out to a commanding lead. This wasn't some play it safe wrestlefuck gameplan, nor did Werdum run away (ala Guida vs Maynard). He outstruck and out grappled a very serious threat. He should have been applauded by the boss man, rather than critiqued.

if it was rousey, he would have praised it as the greatest game plan ever.
