Mark Hunt was tooling JDS until he broke his toe and had his footwork hampered, but never used it as an excuse for the eventual loss even though it was clear to all intelligent and good looking fans that was the only reason.
Yet more proof for The Super Samoan being literally The Best.

Did you use his broken toe as an excuse though?

Here's my question. When had Browne ever proven his gas tank? Why do people think he has stamina? His only fight outside of the first round in the last several years was against Rob Broughton... And guess what? He gassed and looked horrible in that fight. It was one of the worst HW fights I've seen.

Wasn't the Broughton fight at high altitude?

Sounds like an excuse. He gassed midway through the first.
He trains in Albuquerque... Which is higher than Denver. Though I'm not sure he was at Jackson's at the time of the fight.

Funny you should mention Ronda, while Werdum was literally abusing Browne like a foster child I was thinking to myself; this is exactly what Ronda is going to do to Cyborg.
The difference of course is that Ronda would never coast, she finishes niggaz.
On topic:
Everyone fights injured to some degree.
I think there is a couple of things to consider.
A fighter after a loss is going to be asked about it many times, in many ways.
They are going to asked to account for the loss. I think sometimes excuses are sort of coerced out of people.
I have heard fighters admit they performed under par, got caught, felt off, and when pressed added, "I got hurt last week" (or whatever).
And then there's the Tito Ortiz's of the world.

It's interesting that everyone is talking smack about the first injury; it was pretty apparent that Browne hurt his knee against Bigfoot. I don't remember him using it as an excuse, either. It is what it is, and there's only so much one can do about it.

I don't see where the Hapa hate is coming from
He broke a rib and a hand and kept fighting...who else would have done that?
phony fans, screaming Hapa! one day arms swinging from that wagon and the next day "He's a loser, we all knew Werdum would win, obvious excuses"
WAR Hapa.

Funny how the medical suspension list didn't mention one thing about a broken rib or hand. I call bulls---.

YEah I wasn't sure when this announcement came out and what not. So it seems that he never broke a rib, never said he broke a rib and just gassed and took a beat down, ok. I figure my fighter comes to the corner and says "My ribs broken" (ala Spider in Blood in Blood Out) AND my hands broken I throw in the towel, don't further injure yourself. Man he gassed hard, though.

Getting your face punched off by a Rafael Cordeiro-trained fighter who's been working his stand-up game since before you ever stepped foot in an MMA gym is embarrassing?
Man, I gotta get my dictionary fixed, because I've been misunderstanding the meaning of "embarrassing".

It's a fight dude. Do you think werdums hands look fine after punching travis in the face like a hundred times? And the broken rib thing. It wasn't an unfortunate injury that happened from a takedown or something odd. Werdum was smashing Brownes body with leg kicks. No wonder he may of cracked a rib. It came as a result from this thing called a fight that we're watching. Travis suffered a beat down plain and simple.
