Just saw an interview with Mir in which he said he wanted to drop down to 245 and be a lean HW. He said the whole big mustle move was probably a mistake.

frank frank frank :? he always talks like he knows everything. only to then correct himself. its whatevs.. i think deep down hes a good guy thats VERY rough around the edges. getting punched in the head and face so much by brock really took a toll on him. regardless id love to see him sub silva

At 235, suppousing that Mir will bulk up to 245 on day of the fight, I think hes one of the HWs that suits better AS... His TDs are not very good, and hes slow static target, AS will outstrike him, and looks like Mir does not have the best chin in the world... This is a fight AS could win.

This would be a hell of a match up, and one of the few matchups that DW will be able to promote with Anderson. However, if were trying to punish him id like to give him the most difficult fight possible, Mir is up there though, but id cream if he fought Rampage or GSP at 170.

AS would demolish Mir. It's gonna take someone that can match him in speed to have even a slight chance to beat him. Someone like Machida, and possibly Vitor. Those are about the only 2 guys I can see giving AS a good fight.

Haha I guess it would. Beating 2 of the top 5 HW's in the UFC would definitely put him up there. Mir would get KOed by Silva within the first round but it would be interesting to see how Silva handed a much larger wrestler. But hey, if Cheick Kongo could do it for 3 rounds, I would bet my house that Anderson could do the same. Except, when Anderson rocks Cain, he will know how to finish and he will finish, contrary to what Kongo did.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir says he would like to fight current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at a catch weight if Anderson’s planned super fight with Georges St. Pierre is now off.
Silva has previously talked of a move to heavyweight but more recently talked about dropping for a catch weight fight with welterweight division boss St. Pierre. However, UFC president Dana White said yesterday he has gone off that idea somewhat after Anderson put on another bizarre and disappointing show in the headline bout of UFC 112.
“I would love to fight Anderson Silva!” Mir told Fighters Only in a text message last night. “I would even make it a 235 catch weight to make it more appealing to his manager and the commission.”
Silva has fought at light-heavyweight twice in the UFC and finished both his fights there with TKO stoppages. 235lbs would be the highest weight he had ever fought at although he walks around at a similar weight when bulking up for his light-heavyweight excursions.
Whether the UFC would be interested in matching Mir and Silva is unclear but Anderson would certainly have his work cut out for him if they did. Mir is a jiu jitsu player like Maia but his significant size advantage alone would make him a much more threatening prospect.

Well, every fighter acts like he knows everything. That's how fighters are, that's the required mindset, really. You could probably count on one hand the number of UFC level guys that have a mindset of "I don't know. Maybe I can beat him. I don't know." So you must be taking issue with the second part, where he corrects himself.
Yeah, it would be way better if he just absolutely refused to correct himself, admit a mistake, change or evolve, or admit he was wrong no matter how many times he loses by doing the same stupid s---. If he'd been smart enough to do that, he could be a contender right now just like Chuck, Tito, Hughes, Nover, or any of the other awesome, winning fighters that refuse to correct themselves.

Frank is the most overrated fighter there is. Anderson is one of the best fighters in the world, there are only a handful that can beat him, but Mir is not one of them

Maybe but it would be a huge fight. UFC puts it on Spike to make up for UFC 112... people would be cool with it.
