What pisses me off is that people glorify GSP so much that they accully thinks that Jake Shields is some loser who has nothing to offer....
Sure GSP is one hell of a athletic, and iam a huge fan of him, iam very impressed by his intelligence but you should not count Jake out just yet, he has a 15 fight winning streak and has not lost since 04, and he is also a super athletic and smart guy.
I belive in Jake Shields, sure as hell GSP will be his thougest opponoment to win over, but then again wich fighter would not say the same about GSP? But i still think that Jake Shields can win, you should not dissrespct him.

not to be an *** but he didnt look good againts kampman, and i think alot of people though that decision didn't go to shields. Dont get me wrong, i honestly dont know much about sheilds, but what you said sounds very impressive. I don't want to base my opinion in just that fight, if he subs GSP, thatd be awesome. Though i love GSP and i just highly doubt hell lose cuz, well, he never really makes mistakes ya know?

Whats wrong with you guys, you are ruinin my amnesia!
Yeah sure that fight was just wierd, i think the exuse for his condition was something about dieting/losing weight? Wich i find very wierd, though he is very accurate what he eats being a vegitarian and all...
Well anyway, its just feels unfair that GSP gets so very overrated (wich he deserves) and Jake Shields is so underrated (wich he really doesnt deserve)!

I think he definitely has that option, but I think/hope we see a GSP who is making a statement. By that I mean he beats jake in the stand up, puts him on his back, mounts him and then chooses from a buffet of submission options. GSP is at the point in his career where UDs need to become a distant memory. I'm hoping for a shoulder dislocating Americana.

The best thing about GSP is that he likely wants that very thing. He works and acts like someone who wants to be the best. Not just in his class...in
every
class.

Some people were seeing Shields for the first time in that Kampmann fight; he was not impressive in that fight. That certainly didn't help him any. Shields has been fighting at 185 pounds for his last 3 fights. It had been over a year since he cut down to 170 and he is bigger now than he was when he was cutting to 170 previously. I hope he figured it our now though. He doesn't get another fight to try to adjust to that weight now. If he isn't at 100% for his fight with GSP because he still hasn't adapted to the weight cut to 170 then GSP is going to put the worst kind of beating on him. If he figured it out and can come in 100% he has a chance to sub GSP, or potentially even control GSP on the ground for the win. I like Shields and really hope he got the weight cut down now, it would suck for him to come in less than at his best and have GSP just beat on him. I want to get the best GSP vs the best Shields, anything less than 100% for Shields is going to suck for both him and the fans.

well the chances of shields to pull a sub has just getting lowers by this news. GSP definity choose two top guys to train in that category

Agreed.
And yeah i new it was something about the weight, but for me that was not a very good exuse. I hope 2 that he has figured it out... back to forgetting that whole incident!
Anyway I think that people should acknowledge him more...especilly the squirrels!

Re: GSP training with Roger Gracie + Braulio Estima for figh
Jake Shields punches like a girl. I don't mean a women who trains MMA and can kick your average couch potatoe's *** girl but an actual 9 year old who plays with My L'il Ponies and Barbies girl.
His chances are slim to none and we all know it but he is the only one left. Some I don't think he'll be able to LnP in mount against GSP like he did against Hendo and Miller. Jake Shield's hasn't subbed a BJJ black belt in MMA ever. GSP won't be the first.

He sure as hell doesn't have to worry about Shields "stand-up", that's for sure. Why not keep it standing? Shields is indeed dangerous on the mat and GSP is no dummy.... smart move training with top BJJ guys.

I have a question, isnt Shields in a Gracie camp?? Why would another Gracie help his opponent get better?

Here's 14 photos of GSP training at Roger Gracie Academy in London. I sure there are other ways to get full sizef images, but if you hit "slideshow" you get to see the full sized images.

Re: GSP training with Roger Gracie + Braulio Estima for figh
It looks like GSP spent time, or at least visited, some members of Team Rough House at Roger Gracie’s academy.
source :

Team Rough House is branching out, according to a training photo that has emerged via one time TUF contestant Dean Amasinger’s twitter page. The group photo involves a highly unlikely collection of individuals including UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St Pierre and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu demigod Roger Gracie. Also visible are Team Rough House regulars “Judo” Jim Wallhead, Ross Pearson and Andre Winner.
There is no sign of Rough House’s most famous member, and one time contender for GSP’s title, Dan Hardy as he is currently in Iceland- information also gleaned from the ever-useful resource that is twitter.
Amasinger confirms that the photo was taken at Roger Gracie’s academy in London, a location GSP is known to frequent when in the UK. While Rough House fans may be encouraged that the team known for its striking strategies is clearly paying due diligence to other aspects of the game, this could also be a positive development for Roger Gracie whose fledging MMA career is set to resume against Trevor Prangley at Strikeforce: Diaz vs Cyborg on 29th January.
It is unknown whether this is an anomalous occurrence for the Nottingham based Rough House fighters although the other BJJ stand out in the photo, Victor Estima, began working with the team on a regular basis in 2010. Victor is the brother of double ADCC winner Braulio Estima, who is also based in the UK.

Re: GSP training with Roger Gracie + Braulio Estima for figh
I think that's the first photo I've ever seen of Amasinger where he isn't in a triangle.
I'm usually worried about GSP's opponents, but I'm not worried about Shields. Probably a bad sign.
