While this fight would be two legends facing off, I don't really see why it would happen.
Dan Henderson is the LHW champion, and while there is no clear-cut #1 contender, I really don't like when the title is frozen for non title fights.(ie Silva/Irvin)
Fedor has been stopped the last two times he's stepped in the cage, and every single fight comes with a laundry lists of stipulations and special clauses due to his affiliation with a group of Russian criminals who happenen to promote fights.
This match-up seems to be Coker and ZUFFA trying to suck the last little bit of marketablity out of Fedor since it is now apparent that the fight game has passed him by, and Overeem, Barnett, Werdum, Bigfoot, and Kharitonov are just too much for him. And we all know this fight is about a year of "negotiations" away from happening.
Zuffas should look to build up the younger fighters who COULD end up in the UFC one day(business as usual,sure) like Fejiao,OSP,Gracie, and Mo.

I agree with the OP. I dont think a dude that has been stopped in his last two fights should be fighting a champion even if its not for the title. Its like the promotion saying we dont care that you have got your butt kicked your last two fights, we like you and are going to give you a shot at the champ. Plus, it keeps Hendo from defending his title for a minimum 6 months if he isnt hurt in the fight.

How do you think Hendo would do against Bigfoot, and how do you think he would do against Werdum? This is a rediculous arguement to me

Your question is irrelevent because Hendo doesnt fight at HW. Nobody is forcing Fedor to fight at that weight, he does it of his own accord. Dont start blaming his recent losses on the weight " disadvantage," especilly if you talk about how awesome he is when he was beating bigger dudes, its hypocritcal and devalues what he has accomplished.

It's funny how nobody seems to have a problem with this fight (size difference) but other ones with a size difference similar to this, people throw a b!+(h fit and say someone is scared.....
Id be rooting for Henderson in this one btw.

I don't think it means you aren't a true MMA fan but I do not get anyone who doesn't want to see this fight. Getting to see two of the GOATs going at while they are still relevant is a rare treat. I hope it happens.

if hendo wants the fight and they can make it happen then do it..........it should be a 220 catchweight if Fedor wants to go to LHW........give him around a 15-20 pound cut then all he has is another 15 pound cut to make 205 for his next fight......or whatever.
it does not matter.........they are both aging legends with not very many fights left.

So I'm not a true MMA fan because I don't want to see Fedor go out like Liddell, getting finished over and over. Fedor has nothing to prove, and so many fighters have tarnished there legacies by continuing to fight and lose, Liddell, Pulver, Cro Cop.
Also all the people insulting me and this post fail to address the fact this freezes the title and keeps young fighters who are still trying to move up the ranks like Gegard and Mo a chance at facing someone like Hendo and the fact that every Fedor fight is starts with a bunch of bs negotiations and ends with accusations akin to the twilight zone, such as devices in the crowd that made Fedor lose.
I am a true MMA fan and that's why I don't want those M1 goons to make another dollar off the back of an aging legend whos heart clearly isn't in it anymore

Going out like Liddel? Liddel was getting dropped by shots that he used to be able to take like they were pillow punches. Fedor was subbed and tko'd. It was like like he ate a punch that should have no effect and it dropped him. Completely bad analogy there. He is fighting some one who is older then him and who many in the past have wrote as never being champion again. Watching two pride all stars going at it both who seem to actually want to fight should be a great thing.
Fedor is still the same man he was five and ten years ago just the level of competition he was fighting then has changed drastically. When he was truly dominating everyone was a one dimensional guy and he was the one willing to learn all the disciplines to capitalize on it. Now that the new breed of Hw's are doing it he isn't as great as he used to be. He still has the same body type the same skills he just is in a world where people have caught up to him and he isn't that great guy anymore that no one could beat. Just like in another five to ten years there will be another new breed of Hw's (or any weight class for that matter) where they will be better then the guys at the top of the list now.

Again another person doesn't answer my whole post, just nitpicks a small part.
He's been finished twice in a row, and Dan will do it again.
Every sport has athletes who damage there image by hanging on too long.
And every Fedor fight earns M1 money, and keeps there name relevant, which is awful.
