Henderson/Emilenenko: Are you for or against it?

@Thecompany
Please tell me how the hell i am wrong
Jak said this fight was like Nog/Randy and it's not.
Nog had just lost the interm belt, and Randy had just lost the HW belt.
Both were coming off a loss, at HW, and were still incredibly relevant
Fedor has lost two straight, and Dan is moving up to face him on a win streak and is the 205 champion
Randy and Nogueria were both legitimate HWs, because, you guessed it, the both had belts the fight before
Fedor hasn't won a belt or even more than a fight at HW
Then Jak said Couture was a LHW because he won the LHW belt.
Well he was a 2 time HW champion and just lost his belt, he was a HW. Also using that logic Dan is a MW because he held that title in pride and challenged for the SF one.
I was proving that the comparison he made was off.
But, dude, please tell me how and what I said was wrong

I dont think a dude that has been stopped in his last two fights should be fighting a champion even if its not for the title. Its like the promotion saying we dont care that you have got your butt kicked your last two fights, we like you and are going to give you a shot at the champ. Plus, it keeps Hendo from defending his title for a minimum 6 months if he isnt hurt in the fight.

If this was the UFC I'd agree, but it's Strikeforce. Strikeforce has always been about putting on the biggest fights they can without worrying about belts. And they should do this. The UFC can reasonably argue that their title fights are determining the best fighter at that weight. Strikeforce can't say that. What was Hendo vs. Feijao- the fight to determine which one of the Strikeforce LHW's was in the top ten? Personally it's not important to me in the slightest if Hendo ever defends that "title" again.

You seem to be leaving out that Hendo wants the fight. To Hendo it is still a super fight. And it is a bigger, better fight for him than who... Keith Jardine? Gegard Mousasi...
People seem to be leaving Hendo's perspective of wanting to fight a legend. Just because fairweather fans have written Fedor off, doesn't mean Henderson has. Remember... Hendo was a PRIDE a champ, so was Fedor... of course Hendo wants a fight like this.
Neither of these 2 fighters are fighting for "rankings" anymore.
Henderson has already said he's near the end of his career. If you can name a bigger more profitable fight for Hendo in SF, than a super fight against Emelianenko... feel free. Not everybody is going to be fighting until they're 50.
Does nobody remember when Couture and Nog fought and everybody said it was a pointless fight. Pointless maybe, fight of the year... for sure. why exactly are we watching MMA if it's not for legendary fighters.

Actually I do remember that fight, probably my favorite of all time.
But it's nothing like this fight.
Nog/Couture fought at the same weight
Nog and Couture were both coming off loses while Hendo is on a win streak, and Fedor on a two fight skid
Neither Nog or Couture were champions
Sooo..

Isn't that exactly what you just did...nitpick a small part of his post? (I learned this technique from brick still perfecting it by the way)
The only comparison Jak really made was the fact that it was two legends fighting and people were righting it off saying it was pointless....Not all of the little details you bring forth.

Henderson walks around 220 Fedor walks around 230 why should they cut the weight if they can fight on their normal weight?
What contenders are left in the SF? Jardine with 2-5-1 in his last 8? Mousasi who coulden't even beat Jardine? Mike Kyle who broke his hand and coming of a loss? King Mo coming of a loss? Rematch with Feijão? Roger Gracie with 4 profesional fights, his biggest win was against a washed up Randleman. He is not ready for a title shot. Or two of the biggest legends in the sport going for it?

This right here says it all! They are basically the same size, except Fedor has a muffintop. and who the hell is left in the SF LHW division deserving of a title fight?
@ Pentup, who the hell is Feds? is it too hard to push the "or" or what?

The 5 people who are against this I would like to put in triangle and elbow them in to submission.
I dont understand the point of this thread to begin with.
