Bendo shouldn't even have the fukn Belt to begin with,
No rematch he lost twice to Pettis on by a kick that went so viral it was insane, and the other via decisive sub in the first
its not like it was a close decision, he got hurt on the feet and then subbed on the ground. he will have to get 2-3 decisive wins over top contenders to get another title shot

Because the long running sport of boxing does not do this?

you are right, I mean when the New England Patriots won a few superbowls then finally lost they got an immediate rematch!

Yes. Yes he did. He was LUCKY as hell that he got a moronic set of judges for his fights against Edgar and Gil

Thats kind of the point, they should be going out of their way to not to anything boxing does

If it were a fight like their first, I'd agree. But because of these facts, I feel he needs to work his way back up.
Let's talk UFC 155lb Rankings...
(Yeah.. ufc needs to update their stuff...) anyhow, here's what is on the UFC site right now.
1) Bendo ( just lost to pettis )
2) Gilbert Melendez ( just lost to bendo, fighting diego sanchez @ 165)
3) TJ Grant ( just beat Gray Maynard, #1 contender )
4) Josh Thompson (just beat Nate Diaz )
5) Gray ( just lost to Grant )
6) Dos Anjos ( just beat cerrone, 5 fight win streak)
So.... something like this is more accurate for right now. So, if Pettis is injured will Grant be fighting Dos Anjos?>
1)Pettis
2)Grant
3)Bendo
4)Dos Anjos
5)Thompson
6)Gilbert
7)Gray

Oh god, the thought of Clay Guida as a UFC champion is sickening.

I think we are safe, he just lost and dana probably won't give it to him even at a 4 fight win streak. And did anyone notice that pettis hit him with a hook or something and it looked like he rocked bendo? I don't think bendo can win either standing or on the ground. Hed have to grind him againts the cage for 5 rounds to win his belt back, but none of my friends said anything about bendo getting hit, maybe im crazy.

second Edgar fight maybe. but to win a belt you have to dominate the Champ if it is by decision and that is something Frankie did not do. As for the Gilbert fight, I won't argue with that one. But it just seems funny how people are so fast to say how fighters either were overrated, Lucky or not that good after they get beat. Then if a guy wins a fight in a great finish they are all of a sudden the next big thing. MMA fans can be very Fickle, Or at least a lot of the ones on this site. Maybe it is a age thing.

Have not heard anything except Dana saying that it will be a LONG road for Henderson to get a Title shot again. I find that funny seeing how things have been working in the UFC over the last few years. Heck winning is not even a requirement for Title shots in the UFC. Also he has proved over and over he is the Best at 155 until this fight. Beat every Top 10 guy almost at LW. Frankie had to fight the same man twice when he won the title, Hendo had to fight the same man twice when he won. So why not have a immediate rematch with Hendo and Pettis? Hendo defended his belt more times than anyone at LW in a very long time. Cain got KO"D and got a Immediate rematch so that can't be the reason. What did Henderson do that has made Dana be this way with him, I mean fair is fair. What do you all think, Fire away!
And please no answers saying Pettis beat Hendo twice now because the first win was not in the UFC and the majority of the people on here seem to think nothing a fighter does matters before the UFC.

AWFUL DECISIONS HE SHOULD OF LOST... that is all.
I think that Benson highly underestimated Pettis on the mat. All the fundamentals of looking out for submission attempts completely went out of the window when facing Anthony. Bendo got given his bjj Blackbelt recently and as he dominated the likes of Nate Diaz and Jim Miller he probably thought there was no chance he could catch him...
I have to say that Bensons Arm Bar defence was terrible in that position. Respect to Pettis, he did everything right, he torqued it the right way while not letting it go. But what Bendo should've done was stack him and put his weight on the arm while clasping his free arm underneath Anthony's head or his own arm. Trying to pull his arm out like that was making it get tighter, Benson knows this which makes me think that he underestimated him completely, and thought he could power out of it, instead of using the basics IMO...
Not a fan of Benson tbh, but he is a talented athlete that will be back...

Dude you compete, so you should know this. Like I said respect to Pettis, but the escape was all wrong. I'm sure you're bjj coaches NEVER tell you to just try and power out like that as the arm gets tight and more straight. That's a rookie arm bar escape 101 and Bendo forgot tbh...

I think that is a very realistic way of breaking down what happened as well as what will happen in the future. Bendo is far from being overrated. He will fight for the title again, that's almost a given. Maybe he should retire?
Bendo is a beast and there aren't many LWs that will get the best of him. Just a matter of time before he has a 'chance' to wear the strap again

Havent rewatched it, but wasn't the arm being attacked leveraged over bendos other arm? bit like a figure four leglock.
