This would be a very good fight, wonder of Nurmagamedov will get Melendez down. My pick is Melendez though, after that i think he will get the shot against Pettis.

I think an exciting fight between these two would only increase their standing, win or lose. I mean, a fading Sanchez jumped back into the public mind with his match with Melendez. Nurmagomedov, still relatively unknown to the casual, would probably benefit from the publicity a fight with Melendez would bring.
Try to look on the bright side, I guess?

Mother of god. If this is true, then praise the mma gods. Aldo v Lamas, Cruz v Barao, Overeem v Mir, Melendez v Nurmagomedov, all on one card? Nothing will ever top that. Life would all be downhill from there.

between Bendo, Melendez, Khabib, RDA, any combination would produce the next two title challengers.
I think Gil's boxing would be the difference, Khabib still does those leap in sambo punches that leaves him wide open to get countered. but he's extra vulnerable cause he leaps in with uppercuts instead of a cross or hook.
side note- just like when Bendo stated he'll fight anyone when he was champ, but still felt the need to say Pettis has to wait his turn, he's stating he'll fight whoever to get back to a title shot, but he's not that interested in rematches when it came to Gil. like with Pettis, I think Bendo is not sure he can beat him

Hoping for Khabeast NurmaGOATmedov, but I believe he can't hold Gilbert for long enough. Melendez, decision.

Khabib has the rare combo of Sambo, Judo and wrestling, if he gets the position, he can rag doll anyone for a good portion of a round to where he can sway the judges and win the round. the question is, can his aggressive but flawed stand up get him close enough to get in a clinch fight with Gil who has crisp boxing

I'm gonna have to disagree with you, I think he'll be able to close the distance, but he won't rag doll Gil as he did to his previous opponents, though.
It's not like Melendez has serious KO power.

IDK, what Khabib did to Healy was an eye opener. and although it's 2 different style match ups. Gil doesn't always win the grappling exchanges. so if Khabib gets a hold of Gils back he won't look to take the back with hooks like Sanchez, but drag Gil to the ground keep a hold of him if Gill gets up, Khabib then will drag him back down.
when Khabib leaps in he's open to get countered Gil who has a nice right hand can hurt his opponents. so if any fighter gets caught rushing in with at least one foot off the ground, they can get hurt badly, if not knocked down from being off balanced and caught with strikes. so Gil doesn't have to load up but just time Khabib coming in and land his strikes cause the openings will be there.
but that's if and when they fight

Yep. Any and every slight weakness is exposed at the highest level and it's worse at LW.

depends on the match ups. awhile back Maynard stated that becoming a contender was based on how active and healthy the fighters are, cause LW's so deep. and many other LW's talked about LW shouldn't be a top 10 but top 15. cause of how much top level guys there are. so a guy that's not even ranked in the top 10 can beat a top 5 ranked LW.
but the fights for the title becomes very tactical cause of whats riding on the fight and the judging. if Melendez and Bendo fought again with no title on the line or no title implications, they would both be more aggressive
