With Cheick Kongo out with back injury, Roy Nelson says "I think I’m supposed to be fighting Frank Mir":
"I believe that is still part of the rumor mill, cause I think I‘m supposed to be fighting Frank Mir too."
Nelson went on to jokingly say, "I think I might fight them all in the same day."
While he believes that he is more likely to face Mir, nothing is official. That said Nelson has started formulating a game plan for both Kongo and Mir.

Is it strange that I really can't pick a solid winner?
Both are great BJJ competitors, and both have decent striking, it should be interesting to say the least.
When is this fight supposed to take place?

This is an interesting match for both guys. Equally matched in BJJ, equally matched in striking. I think what wins this is Mirs newfound fitness.

I think that Mir is superior in BJJ. Just my opinion.

you do know mir already lost to nelson in a grappling match right?

Mir loses to his own overconfidence before he even steps in the cage. My money is going to be on Nelson so long as there is a + sign in front of the line.

This should be a good fight. I'm going with Nelson for the win. Could certainly go either way though.

I think nelson is a little more well rounded than mir (no pun intended) and I feel that he has more to prove than mir at this point.

That pun was so totally intended that it is ridiculous.

It's true, it's on the internets.

+1.
I also think Frank has massive amounts of pressure on him. Roy, not so much. This also gives Roy an edge.

Yes. Heaven forbid, he should ever up his game...

6-7 years to be exact. It's so tiresome hearing that argument (so an so beat so and so in a grappling match.) And it isn't even like he submitted Mir when said grappling match took place, he just out-pointed him. And Roy was in WAY better shape back then too. I don't even think he had a gut, if you can believe it.

I actually laugh at comments like these most times. I mean, what fighter ever came back and avenged a loss? Forget the fact that it was a grappling match and not an MMA fight.

have to agree. Frank needs this win. wow this would be bad for Mir if he lost this one. Nelson is pretty crafty, i wouldn't count him out in this one.
