yes, it is a bit of an asswipe sometimes but he speaks his mind in an articulate manner
but
i think this is nelsons fight to lose, nelson has better stand up, and has been able to get in on Struve and Schaub
Mirs Standup credential are picking apart a Staph infection Nog and a one shot punch to Kongo that he recovered from rather quickly

Roy does not have better stand up, Mir is far more technical and his footwork & head movement are much better. It sounds like you equate punching power to total ability. Roy definitely hits harder though so I wouldn’t rule out a Nelson KO by any means but I don’t think you can say Roy Nelson has "better" stand up. Mir tooled Kongo, a more than decent striker, through head movement and technique. Nog may not have been his best but Mir looked better that night than Nelson has ever even imagined he could in his bestest dreams. Roy bum rushed Struve throwing hay makers and landed one.
I think that aggression can be effective against Mir because the guy seems to fold under pressure but in terms of total striking ability (skillset, speed, power, footwork, athleticism) Mir is definitely a better striker.

That's bad news for Nelson, seeing as how Mir has not been doing any bragging lately.

Unless you include him repeatedly asking for a catchweight fight with Silva, as bragging.

I'm still a fan of Mir so I'll definitely be disappointed if he loses this one.......
I'm hoping this goes the same way as Mir vs Kongo.......

Hey guys...guess what! I heard Frank Mir was like sooooo upset with his lost to Carwin, that now he is like a totally different fighter. He is working so so so much harder improving every aspect of his game looking to avenge his loss to Carwin and get back the Heavyweight Title. He is going to run through Roy Nelson and anyone else that gets in his way because of how good he is now. Forget anything else that has happened with him before today concerning Frank Mir 1.0 and Frank Mir 2.0. Why? Because here comes Frank Mir 3.0! NOW he is ready to avenge every loss and rule the Heavyweights!

I hate to tell you, but Frank Mir 3.0 will still have nothing for Brock Lesnar, Cain Velasquez or Shane Carwin. Frank can work as hard as he wants, but his wrestling will never be at the level of these three guys.

Sorry if you couldn't pick up my sarcasm. I was just making fun of all of those people who were trying to hype a Mir 2.0 after he lost to Brock citing getting a different boxing coach and hitting the gym more often. Frank Mir 2.0 is bulls--- and so is any alleged Frank Mir 3.0

I wouldn't be surprised if Frank Mir still fancies himself as a striker. I think Mir's biggest problem is that he truly thinks he is better than he actually is. His gameplan against Roy will very likely be to prove how awesome he is at striking, and just watch him get knocked silly.

They will probably nullify eachothers jitz, and be hesitant standing but Nelson's edge in wrestling leads me to believe he will most likely LNP his way to a UD.

Mir should win,but if Roy does win and in my opinion he got a 40 percent chance, people will have take him seriously.Definely a better fight than Cheick{go to Strikeforce}Kongo

No, more like every victory. You remember the Kongo fight, he said quite clearly that Kongo's ground game sucked and that he thought his hands were better, and guess what happened: Mir drops Kongo in the first minute with his superior hands and chokes him out cold.
Remember what he was saying before the Carwin fight? That Carwin was a tougher fight than Lesnar because he was so dangerous standing and as a wrestler. I don't remember him saying once he was going to tool Carwin, and he lost.
Recently Mir has been pretty good at calling the outcome of his own fights. Of course no one is going to say they are going to loose but when the fight is going to be tough Mir says so.

Mir is a good striker, when's the last time anyone had any success standing with Mir? Brandon Verra in 2006 that's when.
Anyway what game plan would you impalement if you were Mir? You don't have the best TD's so its going to be hard to get top position on Roy, his top game is his best asset so your probably not going to pull guard (even though your guard is excellent its playing into his strength), you have a reach and skill advantage striking although he hits harder. What would you do? To me the most realistic game-plan would be to stay on the outside and hit him with combo's (use footwork to get in and out) and work diligently on your counterpunching (Nelson stays wide open when he swings) and head movement.

You have to remember though Mir is going to be hard to take down for nelson, the guy is massive these days.

In Roy's last fights , he start aggressive throwing big punches. He will do the same with Mir and KO him in 1st round.

This is the only way I see Roy winning, and he has a pretty decent chance of doing so. Still if Mir can keep him at distance he should be able to pick him apart.

I would love to see this fight and hope that it happens
I am leaning towards Roy only really on the fact that Mir would need to win the fight and fighting with that kind of pressure is never a good start
