This is not a thread for arguments who is gonna win, Lesnar or Cain but more likely to monitor the records Lesnar is going to set if he wins his next fight, they are as follows:
-First UFC HW to defend his title succesfully 3 times in a row
-First HW who has successfully defeated 4 top 5 HW's in a row(he already has 3 and that is a record for all MMA ever)
-the only fighter ever to get over million PPV buys 4 times row(he has 3 in row already.)

Big pill to swallow. Let's see if he can actually beat Cain.
I'm a fan of Lesnar but this is a freaking muderous row of opponents. I think Cain will have the gas tank where he will be able to exploit Lesnar's weakness in striking defense whereas Carwin failed in ultimately doing so.

Damn is that all true? good stuff.
The Fedor swingers are gonna attack this thread with a vengeance lol, probably cause their's nothing else to talk about regarding Fedor.
Anyway, Velasquez is gonna take Lesnar apart if Cain can just use his wrestling to keep it standing.
I wonder if they will mention any of those potential stats on PrimeTime... they should.

Most of those stats are meaningless though if Lesnar loses.
Cain Velasquez was also a division 1 collegiate wrestler. He's also a great striker and striking defense is Lesnar's biggest weakness. He's also been able to go the distance despite getting some hard shots. I think Cain in many ways is the fighter tailor made to beat Lesnar.

Lesnar/Mir 1 & Lesnar/Herring both only did a little over 600,000 buys.

What about Lesnar/Couture? Lensar/Mir2? Lesnar/Carwin?
And Lesnar/Velasquez will top all of those easily in my opinion. Can't Wait!!
And he's not done fighting lol. And MMA is only getting bigger, he has a lot more fights in front of em.
He's just gotta get some stand-up in his system.

Plus if he gets past Velasquez, JDS would probably do really well. Nog could make a run but I doubt it. Cro Cop could make a run but I doubt it.
Mir/Lesnar 3 is still a possibility, and I'm one who would be interested in that fight. Carwin/Lesnar 2. Overeem could sign with the UFC and we can see that fight.
And some other HW's could come out of nowhere quick and make a name for them self.
...Velasquez will TKo Brock in the 4th Though

your already arguing that he is going to win by assuming he will win to break the records
but one thing that cant be argued is his drawing power
btw Randy vs Lesnar didnt do million it did a bit short of that
do you know the exact number for his last fight? did it actually do over a million?

Not arguing he is going to win just bringing up stats if he does win. Dont know the exact number on 116 but assuming it went easily over million.

This is a record now?? A record that uses rankings based on peoples opinions. If there was an official ranking list this may be valid, but there isn't, so it's not.

Tried to make the part of the post you didn't read a little more obvious.

Those same rankings are used to argue which fighter has fought what kind of competition, so why do they not hold water when Lesnar is in the talks?

It is hard to argue Brock as a legit top fighter at this point. If he beats Cain, I think he will easily beat JDS due to style differences. Also Brock has learned the sport while fighting the best fighters out there. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

I would just like to add that it's
OK
for Lesnar to have fans. People need to stop getting their panties in a bundle every time someone praises Lesnar and spells out that even with only 6 fights Lesnar has accomplished what most fighters never will.
BTW, Brock would absolutely smash Fedor!

There's a lot of records left to be set in the HW division. They haven't had anyone dominate that division in the UFC.

Yea, and I don't get the Lesnar hate really. He is a world class athlete. He is as good a wrestler as anyone else is with their specific discipline. I think he is a better wrestler than Frank Mir is anything for example.
His wrestling pedigreee is also better than Cain's, and he is bigger. Granted Cain is younger and this is his best wrestling test yet, but still.
I think Brock should probably win this. I personally think Carwin could beat him if they rematch, but not many other guys.

Interesting stuff, thanks for posting it. Of course, I'll have to have my people verify this information.

Arguably, no one has dominated anywhere. Emelianenko had a whopping two title defenses in Pride.
