“I’m still working on evaluating. I thought I did great before I was caught. I have to look at it some more and think about it. I think I looked good and I definitely was in great shape. I could have kept that pace up for another four rounds, without a doubt.”
“It’s hard to beat that [aggressiveness] out of me, because that’s who I am and that’s who I’ve been for a long, long time. People like watching me because of the way I fight, so it’s hard to get me not to fight that way.”
“There’s a lot still to think about. I felt pretty good and I think showed I can compete. I’m not going to rush and I’ll do what I think is best. I’m just not at a point to make that decision yet.”
Thoughts?

I'd love to see him keep fighting. Obviously he's way out of the title picture, but he can still put on exciting fights against other non-contenders. He is still a massive draw.
Why not keep fighting? Most of you have already said he's thrown his legacy away anyway, so why not keep going then?

He may be undecided on his retirement, but Dana seems to have made up his mind. We'll see if he sticks by his statements considering how much he loves marketable fighters. I could really see him just absolving Chuck's contract and making him some sort of UFC liaison.

I honestly think he should do whatever makes him happy, unless he's got doctors seriously concerned about him. Wish sum of these new 205 ers were in the ufc 2 or more years ago. Woulda been so many good fights.
I just could t stop laughing at the end of the ppv when Rohan and Goldie were giving chucks retirement speech

I hope he decides to retire and stay reitred. He'll always be one of the greats, but who really wants to see him KO'd again?

That doesn't sound too bad, it would give Chuck a chance to avenge one of his losses and go out on a victory

If he fights again it needs to be a big money maker. Only fight I see is Forrest/Liddell. 2 of the most popular fighters of all time and Forrest doesn't have the KO power. Could be a good slugfest.

Chuck vs Tito 3.
TIto lacks the KO power, Chuck hates Tito. Tito hates Chuck. And, we as the fans can watch Tito get tooled all over again.

the thing is that even if Chuck doesnt want to retire it got into a point it might no longer his decision, that punch from franklin was like the last prove that lidell alredy has the problem with concussions, many sports men has to retire early because that can be a big problem that will jeopardy his life: troy aikman, steve young, mike lieberthal and many others has not got the medical permision to keep doing his career because of concussions and it might be time for lidell to get those medical tests to see if he alredy had that and it might be time to retire before it was to late

I always thought about Chuck/Jardine 2 loser leaves town idea when Houston Alexander was on a losing streak(before Kimbo fight) I'm still a fan of Alexander even though hes pretty much lost four fights in a row. That's the thing though, Most people have their favorite fighter lose a few fights and the jump of the band wagon. I'll always be a fan of Houston Alexander, Joe Lauzon and even War Machine(I await my lynching) They interest me and put on a good show.

I was a big fan of chuck when he wasn't getting knocked out every fight. But now, it's just sad to see him wake up with that "where the fuk am I?" look on his face. He can't be a commentator due to his poor communication skills, but he'd make a hell of a ref or judge. I could see him doing TV ads for sleeping medications too.
I honestly don't know how he believes he can still compete. He was leveled by a former MW who's not even on the same level as the new breed.
Retire chuck...before you look pitiful.

It would keep him in the sport he loves.
Someone has to retire him if he won't do it himself. I know he really wants to believe he can come back and challenge for the title, but is there one fighter in all of MMA with this ratio of being knocked out? It should be illegal to let him continue.
He's won ONE fight since 2006 and been KO/TKO'd FOUR times since.

It was chuck that got me into being a hardcore fan. Chuck could go 0-10 and I'd still be a massive fan and cheering for him every time.

But the thing is, if Chuck wants to keep fighting Dana can't force him into some sort of liaison role. He's got two options - either give in and let him fight again, or rip up his contract and let him go to Strikeforce. At best Dana could sideline him for 6-12 months, but at that point Chuck can go do what he wants.
I still want to see him fight. He can still win his next fight, against Tito or Lawal - one past his prime, the other not actually any good, and both with woeful stand up.

It's too bad.... because even though he got ko'd, he broke Franklin's arm with a kick and staggered him so many times. It was another fight where everybody in the room was standing yelling at the TV... that just doesn't happen much.
I wouldn't mind Liddell being in some freak show matchs... Ortiz, Griffin, Coleman, Shamrock... just let the guy get some knock outs...
D*MMIT CHUCK, WHY CAN'T YOU JUST HAVE SOME PATIENCE! :x

You have to ask yourself how much of the blame you're willing to take when he becomes a complete vegetable. It's not that he can't inflict damage anymore, he can't take it. Not even a short right hand from a south-paw. It is getting to the point where people will start feeling sorry for him (I already am) and that's no way for a former champ and dominant striker to end his career.
How do you feel about Ali jokes? Cuz that's where Chuck is headed...if he isn't there already.
I have MAD RESPECT for the Iceman, but dude...it's over.

Why not give him a couple of favorable matchups? The fans still want to see him, and I think Chuck has earned it.

Because what happens if he gets tagged by a lesser opponent. Not only would it add damage to his brain, it would start subtracting from his legacy.
Ref or judge...but he should not be allowed to fight again. No fighter should be allowed to continue after that many KOs. It's suicide.
As long as he can see/hear/read comments from fans saying he should continue, he'll feel he's obligated to go on.
I don't know about you, but I don't want that on my account.
