I see this going similar to the way that Tommy Spears vs Anthony Johnson went. Jones will be to fast, and to accurate with his strikes for Hammil to mount any offense.

If Jones can use his reach then he will take it. If Hamill gets inside and works from the clinch or gets it to the ground, he will win. Tough one to call right off the bat.

hamill will have a hard time because jones is a prodigy? i dont get that
i think hamill is a great wrestler but jones is a great judo guy, as seen in the bonnar fight. i think this will negate some of the wrestling advantage hamill has. jones is clearly better on the feet, but also in th bonnar fight he gased very fast when he has to go past the 1st round. if jones can keep it standing he should win. however if hamill can survive the first wave he can win the fight in a disicion of late ground stoppage imo.

The Bonnar fight wasn't Judo training, it was good old wrestling. I remember watching Jones wrestle in tournaments that we would compete at against Union Endicott, he was good. Ended up winning a state championship (possibly two, but I'm not sure on that). Also a Junior college champ.

What makes people think Jon Jones is so great on his feet? He has flashy moves, but I have yet to see him dominate any fighter on his feet in the UFC. His fight with Obrien was really close up until the elbow, some say Obrien was winning. Jones won the Bonnar fight due to his wrestling but still didn't look great in that fight.
Matt Hamill may not always have the right game plan, but I think Hamill is safe wherever the fight goes. He will hold his own in the stand up and should be able to overpower Jones to the ground if he chooses.
Matt Hamill has this.
