Here's how I got it:
1. AA- I think the all around combo of footwork, headmovement, power and speed makes him #1. Too bad he dosn't have a BJ or Diaz Chin.
2. BJ Penn- Possibily best Jab in mma, really fast hands.
3. Vitor- Ruthless power, fast hands, decent footwork.
4. Anderson- Amazing speed and Ko Power, Very illusive.
5. Diaz- Great reach, High output puncher.
6. Lil Nog- Solid all around, KO Power.
7. Rampage- Good defense, solid technique, Ko Power

I agree with all of them except Lil Nog. I haven't seen that much of him to make that desicion. You probably have. Phil Baroni has got some nice punches. Crisp, good body shots, nice boxing stance, he just needs some f---ing STAMINA!!!

Yes, So was Lytle, Sakara, and Bonner. Even Houston Alexander I beieve. Dosn't really say all that much. Who knows what Competition Level they were facing
Oh ya, and Mousasi is a good one... should be on my list. Lawler is decent as well, probably not a top 10 however.

Lawler and Anderson Silva would not be on my list of top boxing styles. Lawler is a power puncher but he doesn't have the boxing skills of a former pro boxer like Marcus Davis. Anderson Silva is a great striker but relies too much on his Muay Thai (knees, kicks, elbows) to be considered a top boxer in MMA.
My list would look something like this:
1: BJ Penn
2: Rampage
3: Marcus Davis
4: Arlovski
5: Lil Nog
6: Diaz
7: Dos Santos
8: Vitor
9: Rashad Evans
10: Paul Daley

Davis ended his boxing career with a 17-1-2 record and was a pro-Boxer for seven years. He had more KO wins in boxing than most of those guys (except Lytle) have had MMA fights.

1. Penn- Really good footwork, controls his distance well.
2. Manhoef- Speed, power, and explosiveness.
3. Mousasi- Really crisp strikes, very technical.
4. AA- Think he would do well boxing at HW.
5. Diaz- Unorthodox, works the body well, and massive output.

Good call on Daley. Here's my list with Mousasi and Daley involved.
1.AA
2.BJ
3.Vitor
4.Diaz
5.LIL nog
6.Rampage
7.Daley
8.Anderson
9.Mousasi Something like that anyhow. I don't consider JDS up there at this point. Working on it though.

I think this question is really impossible to answer because its really no longer boxing once they are in MMA its adaptive striking. The boxing stance is way different because they dont have to worry about takedowns, kicks and so on. The last time (or time before cant remember now) Marcus Davis was in studio GG asked the question for me on the differences between boxing and striking in MMA.

I agree with the 2nd poster up from me...
you cannot call it boxing unless you talka bout just boxers.... call it strikers and you have something... boxing type striking is not used near as much as muay thai or some soft of crazy adapted striking that doesnt look anything like boxing except you are swinging your fist at the guy...
so leave everyone but true boxing based strikers off the list and try again.... I do not care for most boxing based strikers... I think AA really has gone downhill since he started traini9ng boxing and I guarantee it is because he changed HOW he strikes... go look at old tape... then go ahead... try and argue how much better a striker he is now with his boxing base but now he loses fights.... boxing translates poorly... Marcus davis was a pretty decent boxer before MMA and even as he started but he really is not a contencer at MMA and his striking doesnt compare to the better MMA guys in his weightclass which do not use conventional boxing striking...

Evidently you missed the fight with Forrest Griffin where Anderson Silva slipped tons of punches with his hands down and then KO'd Griffin with a superb counter shot.

Jardine did that to Forrest as well. Forrest isn't known for his amazing boxing. I know Anderson has boxing skills, but in pure boxing I dont think he stacks up skill wise to the guys I listed.

Jardine caught Forrest in that fight; Anderson completely out-classed Forrest, showed his stand up absolutely no respect, and barely broke a sweat in the process of beating one of the toughest LHW's in the UFC.

Jens Pulver was also a pro-boxer for a while if i'm not mistaken.
