Yea, Martinez bailed out Argentina for nearly the entire game, Enzo is a moron, and the Spanish midfielders outclassed Argentina and completely controlled possession. I thought Argentina was gonna pull a rope-a-dope in the second half but nope, Spain kept the foot on the pedal up until the Ferran Torres goal (and then almost gave up an equalizer by taking said foot off the gas).

Yes, Martinez saved them multiple times.
Spain did nothing new, nothing surprising, and they stuck with it and paid off, but Argentina didn't have an answer.

In the build up to the game, all the English kept bringing up the Falklands so they can't complain imo

Nothing to do with that. The UK care about it a little bit but the rest of Europe don’t give a shit about the Falklands. They and the rest of the world really were mostly on Spains side cuz Argentina is not well liked for being filthy, dirty cheaters on and off the field. Sore losers too. Not just Europe but in North America as well. You could say that it’s cuz they win a lot but Brazil aren’t as hated. This WC has been the most corruptible one ever blatantly in their favour to get them to the final cuz of Messi. The amount of free kicks/yellow card they should have gotten and didn’t were ridiculous. Nvm all the other stuff.

The FIFA president accidentally let it slip when getting asked about the Cape Verdi game and him saying Argentina got through thank God, but realised he screwed up and supposed to be impartial. I’ve never seen a WC where the referees have let a team get away with murder in their favour before. They sure love Messi. Even in the final, the referee finally done his job but there was still a lot of yellow cards that should’ve been issued.

After watching yesterday's final, I am not sure how Spain does not repeat. Yes, I know anything can happen, but Laporte will be the old man at 36, their best players will still be in their prime and Yamal might be the best forward in the world at that point.
