MMA Opinion
It looks like Matt Hammil vs Thiago Silva will go down at an October 9 event in Brazil.

Holy s---, the Hammer is back. This is exciting. Call me crazy, but I see this going down like Silva vs Evans. Non stop takedowns by the Hammer to come back with a big win. Gotta remember, Hammer was injured frequently. A healthy Hammer vs Anyone but Rich Franklin or Rampage is a scary thought.

Briefly then returned and fought Roger Hollett

Comparing Matt Hamill to 18-3-1 former LHW champion Rashad Evans? Bit of a stretch, no?

Not that much of a stretch at all. Hammill is a great wrestler like Rashad. I think the Hammer's way of winning lies in Rashad's blue print. Both fighters are phenomenal wrestlers, have power in their hands, and grind out decision wins.

Silva by way of KO in the 1st..
It sucks Hamill has to still be fighting and can't seem to make a living somewhere else. He was hyped up by Tito, but never really found "it" in the UFC. And has not looked all that impressive in his last few fights...

Other than a massive speed difference, they are pretty similar stylistically. Wrestlers with decent power in their hands

I wonder if Hamill has fully recovered from his brutal war with Roger Hollett

i don't really like or dislike either guy... But, i'm picking thiago silva for 2 reasons.
1. Matt hamill will have not fought in over a year when he fights thiago silva
2. its in brazil, so obviously the UFC is giving thiago a fight they think he'll win.

the fact about it being in brazil is a good point. however, the year off for hamill can go both ways. a healthy hamill is a far more dangerous hamill.
