Hope yout not talking about me trolling EZ? I'm not trolling. I honestly would like to hear the answer. I have a few questions like this that just don't make sense to me.
My kids go to a Private Christian School...so I aint trolling nothing. My Wife goes to Church every Sunday. Not my thing so I don't go. But I do have a relationship with God.
My thing is no Religion, just a relationship.

I don't think you are trolling but you are taking the the thread off topic. The OP clearly stated "I'm not tryin to start a heated debate about religion! Im just attempting to create somthing positive where we can post our
favorite bible verses and discuss how we apply them to everyday life.
"
I'm sure there are a dozen other religion threads you could search for and post the question in.

:?
His question was actually a quote of a story I've heard a million times growing up... And it was in a positive manner imo.

Nah. I don't really use the term trolling and I wasn't really talking to anyone in particular. Just stating that this threw shouldn't get out of hand. I know Aldo is newer and like h said he wasn't looking for a heated debate. Just throwing my 2 cents in hoping this thread doesn't get out of hand like so many others have been lately ya know
Ya I hear ya man. Totally agree. This should be kept civil and no crap talk about how God doesn't exist or questioning his existence or whatever. There are other threads for that.
I have alot of questions really. But I still have a relationship with God. It just isn't jeapardized by the fact that I say f--- once in while...ya know?

But he's not posting it as his favorite Bible verse and sharing or asking how it applies to everyday life. I don't think the question he asked applies to what the thread OP stated the purpose of the thread was at all.

I think Aldo has brought a great idea to the table. And being that he hasn't done anything negative to any of you, I don't think it's nice to troll his thread.
That being said, this is one that I shared with friends the other day:
Proverbs 17:17 - A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

I didn't mean to troll, I was asking cause I was confused.

But this is not the thread to be asking that type of question is all I am saying.

God made Adam. He then made Eve as company for him. They had two children, Kane and Able...Kane killed Able because he was pissed about some sacrifice. So God cast Kane off to the "forsaken" land, where he met his wife.

Genesis 1:26-29 - And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the foul of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm alone ? 12 And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

i sure as hell dont have all the answers but i can share my opinion and how i deal with all the impossible questions. Obviously we are no where near god's level (capacity), kinda like an adult and a 3 yr old that has a million questions. if a kid asks you how a tree grows, you arent going to go into details about photosynthesis(spelling?) you have to "dumb" it down. So thats how i look at the book of genesis. God "dumbing down" the BIG BANG or what ever divine phenonmenon that occured.

Obviously the Bible is open to interpretation, hence the multiple religions but I am of the believe that Adam and Eve were not the only two created by God. And from the first verse that I quoted above, I further believe this to be the case.

All good my friend, I misunderstood. I was mistaken in quoting as well. I will read along and pick up some good advice I guess!
For the record, if I have questions along the way about quotes, can I ask without steering anything off topic? I mean if you guys refference something or a quote that I don't understand, will you guys explain - or should I just leave this thread alone? There's A LOT of stuff in the bible I don't understand. I won't challenge you guys, just ask for clarification if that's cool with you guys...

I see your point and that would be good advice for attempting to explain creation or whatever. It just looks to me, like a bit of an error in the bible ya know? Alot of things like that make me go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Ya know. But I'm not here to debate anything with you at all. Just curious really. But this thread is about versus, so perhaps, we should leave it at that.
Thanks for answering.

All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away
-Isaiah 64:6
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more
- Isaiah 2:4
isaiah is my favourite book in terms of wisdome, but man my favourite book to read is the song of solomon. that s--- is borderline erotica. and people try to say sex for the sake of sex is a sin outside of marriage. pshaw.
Your breasts are like two fawns, like twin fawns of a gazelle that browse among the lilies.
- song of solomon, 4:5
His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.
- song of solomon 2:6
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
- song of solomon 2:3
Scarcely had I passed them when I found the one my heart loves. I held him and would not let him go till I had brought him to my mother's house, to the room of the one who conceived me.
- song of solomon 3:4
seriously. and it's even borderline gay as well.
yeah i said it.

if it's answers you're after, religion is the wrong place to look.
for some reason, all holy men in the world hear "i want more questions" when you ask for answers.
