Yeah. I'm curious to how he got the concussion cause normally I hear of concussions taking somewhere between 30-90 days depending on the case.

I'm pretty sure he got the concussion while rolling during training, I think a stray knee to the head or something like that anyway. It wasnt during a fight. Must have been a whole lot worse than originally thought. Everybody is different in how they heal though. Makes ya wonder if he maybe had an issue with concussions prior to this one or maybe they are just being extra cautious considering what he does for a living. I bet he is really frustrated but whatya gonna do? Brain is a bit different than a knee or shoulder injury. I feel bad for him, tough luck for a damned tough fighter

Yeah he could have had issues in the past, I don't know. But if he got it rolling then I've got to question it because I've never heard of a guy getting a concussion in jiu-jitsu and being out for over half a year. The only position where you can catch a knee with serious force is passing half guard.

Grant needs to grow a set. 30 days is a pretty standard time for a fighter to take off, I can see 90 days being safe side. But after 6 months and you still can't train?

And a Doctors main diagnoses goes from what a patient tells them. If you go and complain and act like a b---- to a doctor they will find something wrong with you.

Yeah like TJ's brain isn't important. He's taking his time and telling everything to his doctor cause it's his brain it's not like it's a finger.

Obviously you've never seen Grant fight...grow a set? GTFO of here man. This just may be the stupidest post I've ever seen on these forum pages and that's really saying something. Oh let me guess you're a Brain specialist...

Grant has looked great has looked great in his fights since dropping to 155. and your right I'm not a Neurologist or a brain specialist as you call it. I am educated enough in medicine to know That it's in the human psyche when they hear or read about symptoms one relates to it and think they could have it. And I know a Physician in US needs to play on the side of safety to prevent lawsuits. I've been at the gym enough to know when a fighter wants to fight, it's hard to keep them out of the gym for 30 days after a concussion

The New York Rangers's Jeff Beukeboom suffered from post-concussion syndrome even after retiring. Reading his Wiki page, it says that it didn't go away till two years after retiring. I had seen a special about it several years ago, and I remember him saying that he couldn't even pick up his young daughter without feeling sick. He had a history of concussions though.

I see we have a new troll. Whoopee.
Concussion and TBIs do NOT have a set time for recovery. It can happen in as little as a week or it can last into years. And conversely, you do not need to actually get hit in the head to be concussed. Anything that causes a whiplash effect can cause the brain to bounce off the skull and cause a concussion.

Damn that sucks, BJJ concussions are no joke. I've heard of guys still feeling concussion symptoms 6-9 months after receiving one so hopefully Grant is cleared some time soon.

A second even third opinion is always in order
my gpa had 1 leg cut off
thenn they said he needs to cut off the other
he was unwilling to do so and got another opinion and all it took was a vien transplant taken from his other leg and boom saved his leg and possibly some sanity
just sayin they aren't all all knowing

Surgeons are always going to prefer to cut.
